Everything you need to know about the World Supercross Championship coming to Calgary

4 August 20263 Mins Read

Calgarians, start your engines, because it’s revving up to be one epic summer in YYC. For the first time ever, the World Supercross Championship is coming to Calgary, and you don’t want to miss out on getting tickets for the season’s opening round.

It’s all going down on Saturday, Aug. 8 at McMahon Stadium, where riders will compete for the first championship points of the year. These daredevils are the real deal, accomplishing amazing feats on their bikes for a roaring crowd of visitors and locals alike. If you’ve ever been to a supercross event, you know the energy in the stadium is next level, and if you haven’t, it’s absolutely a bucket list experience.

A supercross spectacle

McMahon Stadium is no stranger to hosting major sporting events in Calgary, and to up the ante, it’s staging a purpose-built supercross track for the round. The result will be a short format, high-intensity dirt track with tight corners and massive jumps, contributing to an all-out night of unpredictable racing and unforgettable family fun. Expect bar-to-bar competition, big-air moments, and an atmosphere unlike any other.

Supercross has a large fanbase worldwide, with an especially strong presence in Canada. Following opening weekend, the 2026 season will also visit Birmingham, Buenos Aires, the Gold Coast, and South Africa, with the sixth-round location yet to be announced.

Ticket tiers for everyone

If you’re bringing the kiddos, tickets in the family zone are the way to go. Starting at $20, these tickets are located in the general seating bowl near the start gates, close to amenities, food, and merch, and are designated for families with children under 12.

General admission tickets start at $40, with various VIP tiers available for die-hard motocross fans. You can also opt for add-ons, like an early entry upgrade that includes two extra hours of track action before the main show, and a track & pit walk where you can enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience before the main racing gate drop. Simply put, there is a ticket and experience for everyone.

Get your tickets today to watch global supercross stars battle for the title on a night unlike anything else in Calgary.
