Who says trick-or-treating is just for kids? Halloween falls on Saturday, Oct. 31 this year, and while we’ve got you covered with family-friendly events, the 19-plus crowd can also enjoy grown-up treats at a few Toronto bars and breweries (from complimentary drinks to costume-related cocktail discounts!)
Here are four Toronto spots where adults can get in on the Halloween fun this weekend.
1. NEST: Free drinks for the ladies
423 College St. | Oct. 31, 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
This one’s for the ladies! NEST is throwing a Halloween Thriller party with DJs spinning hip-hop, R&B, reggaeton and dancehall. The nightclub is advertising one complimentary drink for women before 11:30 p.m., along with limited free admission offers. There is a catch, though! Free-entry tickets are limited, and paid admission options are also listed, so check ticket availability before heading over. The event is for ages 19 and up.
2. Henderson Brewing Co.: Free drinks for early arrivals
128A Sterling Rd. | Oct. 31, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Early birds get the booze, apparently, at Henderson Brewing Co.’s Halloween party! The first 100 guests through the door will receive a complimentary drink ticket. The 19-plus event also features DJs playing bass, techno and pop remixes, as well as a group costume contest with more drink prizes. Admission isn’t free, though (tickets will cost you $25).
3. The Wych: Not free, but dress up for discounted cocktails
1150 Davenport Rd. | Oct. 31, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Costumes could save you a few dollars at The Wych, which is hosting a Halloween Fright Night celebration featuring horror-movie visuals and gothic classics! Guests wearing costumes can take advantage of special deals on the bar’s fall cocktail menu. The bar hasn’t published exact discount amounts, so you’ll have to head over all gussied up to find out what’s on offer.
4. Bonus: Red Tape Brewery is making Halloween a family affair
159 Main St. | Oct. 31, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Parents don’t have to wait until the kids are asleep to enjoy a little Halloween fun. Red Tape Brewery is inviting families to stop by for a pre-trick-or-treating celebration, where adults can enjoy a beer while their costumed little ones snack on veggies and take part in a Halloween piñata smash around 4:30 p.m.! Admission is free, but you’ll need to register for a ticket, and beer isn’t complimentary.
If that’s not enough for you, we’ve got 5 spooktacular spots to grab a hauntingly delicious Halloween cocktail and a whole list of unmissable Halloween events, pop-ups, and screenings taking over Toronto!
