Fun ways to celebrate Halloween in Vancouver that aren’t going out partying

22 October 20263 Mins Read

Halloweekend will be here before you know it, but not everyone’s idea of a good time is the same. While there are plenty of Halloween parties and bar crawls to snag tickets to, maybe you’d prefer to skip the shots and partying (and the hangover) this year. If a spooky craft night or paint and sip sounds like more your cup of tea, read on.

An adults’ craft night could be just what you need leading up to Halloween. This 19+ event has participants building their own piñatas while sipping on complimentary wine at Cork It Wine Making Ltd. in North Vancouver. Just bring yourself and your creativity!

When: Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: 1427 Crown St., North Vancouver
Cost: $49.26 per person

This one’s for anyone who has been wanting to carve a pumpkin but hasn’t had the chance to get out to a patch just yet. For an event that starts in the late afternoon with pumpkin carving, snacks, and a costume contest, and ends with an after-party, consider checking out this craft night on Granville. According to the event page, it’ll be equal parts craft night and social, with plenty of opportunities to get creative and enjoy the Halloween vibes with friends old and new.

When: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026
Time: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: 978 Granville St.
Cost: $18.15 per person

Strange Fellows Brewing is hosting a spooky night of watercolour painting, and they’ve got some great local brews on tap to pair with it.

When: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: 1345 Clark Dr.
Cost: $62 per person

If you’re hoping to get outside and dance but want to avoid the traditional dance floor, this is a happy medium. Hastings Moonrise is an all-ages neighbourhood party with live bands featuring local teens and kids, so it’s the perfect event to bring the entire family out for. The event takes place at Famee Furlane Hall, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

In addition to live music and entertainment, there will be candy, a dance contest, and a costume contest.

When: Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
Time: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7 p.m.
Where: 2605 East Pender St.
Cost: $17.31 per person

Mali Crafts Co and Dream Collective are hosting a stamp-making workshop on Halloween that’s beginner-friendly, and you don’t have to worry about bringing any tools. You’ll be able to design, carve, and take home a linocut stamp of your creation, perfect for journalling, card-making, gift-wrapping, or just trying something new and creative.

When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
Where: 1132 Robson St.
Cost: $17.31 per person

This paint and sip night will transform Canadian Brewhouse into a giant craft session with spooky decor and all the paint, canvases, and easels you need for a group paint night. No painting skills are required to participate!

When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
Time: 1 to 3 p.m.
Where: 4755 McClelland Rd., Unit 1305, Richmond
Cost: $43.74 per person
