Here’s where this popular frozen yogurt chain is opening first Canadian location

16 July 20262 Mins Read

A frozen yogurt chain that’s made a huge splash in a series of countries in both North and South America is gearing up to make its Canadian debut with a location in Toronto.

It’s shaping up to be quite the banner year for frozen treats in Toronto. Sure, summer temperatures approaching historic highs are likely a driver for industrious ice cream entrepreneurs, but I’m not complaining. Climate existentialism always melts away when one is presented with ice cream, gelato, or frozen yogurt, almost as quickly as the treat itself melts under the sun.

The latest venture to announce it’s soon setting up shop in the city comes as particularly exciting news for anyone hoping to get a little extra protein (and a little less sugar) in while they indulge: Mythos Greek Frozen Yogurt is coming to Canada.

Founded on the Caribbean island of Aruba, the frozen yogurt company has built a cult following of a surprising size, given the island’s relatively small population, prompting it to expand to four locations — two in Aruba, one in New York, and another in Bogota, Colombia— in just around two years.

The chain has become particularly popular among the health-conscious crowd thanks to its low-sugar, high-protein base of frozen two per cent Greek yogurt and unique collection of toppings like baklava, figs, and even olive oil, but I’m personally just thrilled that it’s given me yet another excuse to eat froyo in the morning and call it breakfast.

Mythos might just be met with some, similarly newfounded, competition when it does finally set up shop in Toronto, though, because Kela, a conceptual twin, recently opened its doors on St. Clair East.

If the enthusiasm Kela was met with immediately upon opening is any indication, though, Mythos can expect to be welcomed with open arms (and pockets).

There’s no word yet on when or where Mythos will set up shop in Toronto, but the chain does claim the new location is “opening soon,” so it may not be long before we find out.
