Horseshoe Bay Resort has broken ground on a $10 million racquet sports expansion that includes four padel courts and a Racquet Sports Clubhouse anticipated to open by summer 2027.

The project will add 6,690 square feet of indoor and outdoor covered clubhouse space to the resort’s existing tennis and pickleball facilities. The resort currently has six hard tennis courts, six red clay tennis courts and 14 dedicated pickleball courts.

FAB Studio Inc. is the lead architect for the project. Talley Associates is providing landscape architecture, Murphy Cramer Design is handling interior design, and John King Construction is the contractor.

The clubhouse will include a central social lounge with views of the courts, along with reception, retail and lounge areas. The indoor space will include seating, televisions, high-top tables, upholstered stools and a countertop along a wall of windows overlooking the courts.

The project also includes a 2,632-square-foot covered outdoor lounge with seating and views of the courts.

Food and beverage offerings at the clubhouse are expected to include chef-prepared grab-and-go items, sports drinks and ready-to-drink cocktails. The retail area is planned to carry athletic apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories.

The expansion is tied to the resort’s affiliation with the Mouratoglou Tennis Center at Horseshoe Bay, the first Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in the United States. The center offers clinics, private and group lessons, and weekend camps.

Horseshoe Bay Resort is part of the Crescent Hotels & Resorts Latitudes Collection.
