Making gold in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave might seem as important as leveling up characters or recruiting new units. However, having your army ready to fight with the best pieces of equipment and weapons they could have is an expensive endeavor. If you’re not mindful about how you spend your money, you will quickly run out of gold.

Hunting insects
In the nodes nearby Dagsion, you will regularly find places with animal packs marked by an insect-like icon. When you visit them, you will fight Blight Louses. Whenever you need money, you should focus on nodes where you can encounter these enemies, because you can get either an insect pearl or a large insect pearl for each Blight Louse you kill. You can sell the former for 300 gold and the latter for 1,500 gold.
Searching purse nodes
When on the world map, you will eventually come upon nodes with a purse icon. These are usually abandoned temples or fortresses where you may discover treasures. By using the “Search” command in these nodes, you may find items like coins, large coins, and crates, which can help you earn some money. You can sell coins for 30 gold and large coins for 1,200 gold each. Depending on the item you obtained from the crate, you can also receive a good amount of gold for it. When playing Theodora’s path, you can leave a battalion in one of these purse nodes to collect multiple coins.
Trading materials with a Vandhal Merchant
Both in Dagsion or on the world map, you will find members of the Vandhal Trading Co. These unique sellers don’t care about your money. Instead, they will exchange the items they have in stock for materials. For example, you can obtain one iron sword — which costs 1,500 gold, and you can sell for 300 gold — for free if you have six linaria to trade. Because you can acquire weapons or other pieces of equipment of high value without spending money, trading then selling items you get from a Vandhal merchant is always a good idea.
Selling materials you don’t need
There are multiple ways to gather materials in large quantities as you progress in Part 1, especially if you’re playing Cai’s or Theodora’s paths. You can enter a dungeon and collect all the ores you find, leave battalions in multiple nodes, or grow rare vegetables with Cai to sell them later. Regardless of how, just keep in mind that you might have more materials in your bag than you will actually need, so just sell them.
Questing
I know this sounds fairly obvious, but it’s true. Completing quests is by far one of the best methods to earn money. Side quests will not only reward you with gold, but also with renown points and, most of the time, with some experience points since these missions might involve fighting enemies. It’s a win-win situation. Later in Part 1, paralogue missions will start appearing and these are your gold tickets. You earn 20,000 gold per paralogue, which will give you enough funds to prepare your units for the battles ahead.
