MHL acquires two IHG-branded hotels at Dublin Airport from Tifco

Irish owner-operator MHL Hotel Collection has acquired the four-star, 209-room Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport and the three-star, 214-room Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport in Ireland from Irish owner-operator Tifco Hotel Group, for an amount reported to be around €95 million (€225,000 per room). Both hotels are situated two kilometres south of Dublin Airport and include a restaurant, bar and meeting rooms. This acquisition brings MHL’s portfolio to 16 hotels. Tifco has sold several Irish hotels since it was acquired from Goldman Sachs for around €600m in 2018 by funds managed by US private equity firm Apollo Global Management. 

Magellim Group acquires two hotels in Paris from Extendam

Real estate investment company Magellim REIM, a subsidiary of French asset management company Magellim Group, has acquired the four-star, 51-room Grand Hôtel Chicago and the four-star, 38-room Hôtel Riesner in Paris from French private equity firm Extendam for an amount reported to be around €40 million (€449,000 per room). The two recently renovated hotels are located in Paris’s 17th and 12th districts. This transaction marks Magellim REIM’s third hotel investment.  

Kryalos Sgr acquires two assets in Rome

Italian real estate investment company Kryalos Sgr, on behalf of its Kryalos Room00 Fund, has acquired a 50-room hotel and a vacant building in Rome for an amount reported to be €35 million. The hotel, previously known as Numa I Linea, is located near Roma Termini station, while the second property is situated near Piazza di Spagna. Spanish owner-operator Room00 will operate the existing hotel under its Room Urban Hostel brand, while the second property will be converted into a 45-room hotel and operated under Room00’s boutique Letoh brand. Italian banking group UniCredit provided a €27.5 million financing facility to the Kryalos Room00 Fund. 

JP Immobilien acquires Lindner Hotel Vienna Am Belvedere in Austria

JP Hospitality, the hotel subsidiary of Austrian real estate developer and investor JP Immobilien, has acquired the four-star, 219-room Lindner Hotel Vienna Am Belvedere – JDV by Hyatt in Austria. The property is situated in Vienna’s third district by the Belvedere Palace. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and seven meeting rooms. German operator Lindner Hotel Group will continue operating the hotel. 

Brussels Airport Company acquires Novotel Brussels Airport from Covivio

The Brussels Airport Company has acquired the three-star, 209-room Novotel Brussels Airport in Belgium from Covivio Hotels, the subsidiary of French real estate investor Covivio. The hotel is situated a five-minute drive from the airport and includes a restaurant, bar and 11 meeting rooms. French owner-operator Essendi will continue to operate the hotel under Accor’s Novotel brand. The Brussels Airport Company already owns the four-star, 294-room Sheraton Brussels Airport and plans to construct a new hotel at the terminal by 2032. 

Royal BAM Group acquires Holiday Inn Eindhoven from Somerset

AM, the property development subsidiary of Dutch construction group Royal BAM Group, has acquired the four-star, 206-room Holiday Inn Eindhoven by IHG in the Netherlands from Dutch real estate investment company Somerset Capital Partners. The hotel is situated by Eindhoven’s central train station and includes a restaurant, bar and five meeting rooms. AM plans to redevelop the property into a large mixed-use development with homes, a new hotel, community facilities and potentially the area’s tallest residential tower. 

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa acquires Pavillon Villiers Étoile in Paris

Arkéa REIM, the real estate investment management subsidiary of French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, has reportedly acquired the three-star, 55-room Pavillon Villiers Étoile in Paris, France. The hotel is situated in Paris’ 17th district, a residential neighborhood in the northwest of the city, approximately 4 kms from the city centre. Arkéa plans to refurbish the hotel and reposition it as a four-star property.  

Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation acquires Travelodge Birmingham Central Moor Street from Charterhouse Property Group

Derwent Estates, the charity investment arm of British Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, has reportedly acquired the 88-room Travelodge Birmingham Central Moor Street in the UK from London-based real estate investment company Charterhouse Property Group, off a guide price of £10.33m (£117,000 per room). The hotel is situated in Birmingham’s city centre by the Moor Street railway station. The property is leased to Travelodge under a 25-year fixed-term lease.
