Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis at 1501 Washington Ave., its first Hyatt Centric hotel in Missouri.
Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis occupies an 11-story building constructed in 1910 as the headquarters of Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Co. The building was part of Washington Avenue’s garment and footwear industries in the early 20th century. Its Sullivanesque design includes slender vertical columns, ornamentation and Art Nouveau influences. Theodore C. Link is associated with the building, and the hotel’s lobby restaurant and bar is named for him.
The property has 142 guestrooms with high ceilings, oversized windows and city views. Rooms and suites feature open layouts and modern furnishings, while select rooms include a sofa and seating area.
The hotel is near the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, City Museum, Forest Park, America’s Center Convention Complex and MetroLink.
The Link serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its menu includes toasted ravioli, The Hill Classic pizza, dishes prepared in a wood-burning pizza oven and items cooked on a wood-fired grill. The hotel also includes the Lobby Bar and Provisions, a 24-hour market offering sandwiches, salads and other items.
Expedition, the rooftop bar and pool, is scheduled to operate during the spring and summer. The venue has a full bar and serves shareable dishes and cocktails for lunch and dinner throughout the week.
Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis has approximately 11,750 square feet of meeting and event space for executive meetings, social celebrations, weddings, rehearsal dinners and welcome receptions. The ballroom can host more than 200 guests.
Other amenities include a 24-hour fitness center and pet-friendly accommodations.
