IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed San Bernardo, Vignette Collection, a 67-room hotel in central Madrid expected to open in March 2028.
The signing will bring IHG’s total open and pipeline Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Spain to 21 properties. San Bernardo, Vignette Collection, will be located on Calle de San Bernardo, close to Gran Vía.
The hotel will be developed in a partially protected heritage office building. The redevelopment will preserve architectural features and add an internal courtyard, an all-day dining venue, a lounge and bar, and fitness facilities.
San Bernardo 19 S.L. owns the property. Hotel Collection International will operate the hotel. Catella, a Spanish real estate advisory and investment management firm, consulted on the deal.
The Madrid signing follows additions to the Vignette Collection portfolio in Spain, including Finca Banyols, Vignette Collection in Mallorca; Casa del Compositor, Vignette Collection in Jerez; and Hacienda de la Vega, Vignette Collection in Carmona.
IHG’s Spain portfolio spans 10 brands across the Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials and Suites segments. Its expansion in Spain includes Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca, Málaga and Marbella.
Vignette Collection launched in 2021. The brand includes hotels in urban and resort locations, with properties retaining their individual identities, characters and names while using IHG systems, distribution and the IHG One Rewards loyalty platform.
In Europe, Vignette Collection debuted with Casa da Companhia in Porto. The brand has expanded into the U.K., Hungary, Italy, France, Türkiye and Spain. Recent additions to its regional portfolio include Canary Riverside Plaza in London and Esperança Hotel in Braga.
