The 184-room hotel will be located in Bangkok’s Sathorn central business district, in the Silom-Sathorn area. Its design will be inspired by the tropical glamour of 1920s Siam and will incorporate design, music and local storytelling.
The property will include a 24/7 bar and music programming, including live evening performances. Guestrooms will include Marshall speakers, and guests can borrow guitars. Other planned features include oversized beds, rainfall showers and self-service technology.
Bangkok is the sixth city to serve as the Southeast Asia debut location for an IHG brand before regional expansion, following Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Kimpton and Vignette Collection.
Ruby has more than 40 hotels open and in the pipeline across Europe and the United States. The brand aims to grow to more than 120 hotels over the next decade. IHG sees further opportunities for Ruby in urban destinations across the wider Asia Pacific region following the Bangkok hotel.
The signing adds to IHG’s Thailand portfolio, which includes 42 open hotels and a pipeline of 41 additional properties across 11 destinations and 11 brands.
