It’s hard to believe that it has been more than 20 years since Jennifer Aniston made her debut on the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet.
The then-26-year-old actress was joined by her Friends co-star Matthew Perry at the event held on September 10, 1995. While she was not nominated, she stunned in an elegant black strapless dress with matching elbow-length gloves.
She was also rocking her now-iconic “The Rachel” haircut. Overall, her look was peak ’90s, and we wouldn’t be surprised if others mimic the look on the red carpet at this year’s event.
She was nominated for her first Emmy Award in 2000 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, but she would not win the award until 2002. Accepting her award, Aniston wore a nude gown with a matching scarf, and her hair was in loose curls. The epitome of California chic.
And while Aniston, 57, loves to keep things minimalist, she vowed to take more fashion risks on the red carpet.
“On the red carpet, it’s time for me to start doing something different. I play it very safe because I just want to be comfortable…if I could wear a jersey tank that went down to the floor, I would,” she told InStyle.
And she did just that when she attended the 2024 Emmy Awards, where she was nominated for her role on The Morning Show. She wore a nude and pearl-embellished column dress by Oscar de la Renta.
“Tonight was such a big night, and I wanted a look that felt effortlessly polished,” she told Vogue. “California sleek, if you will.”
