K-pop fans are about to get a new shopping destination in Calgary this summer

30 June 20263 Mins Read

Calling all K-pop fans: Calgary is about to get a new go-to spot dedicated to everything you have been collecting online for years. Kpop Friends is a new store opening at CF Market Mall that will bring all the K-pop essentials into one space for fans to explore in person.

Right now, the brand has stores only in Korea, making the Calgary opening its first Canadian location. So if you’ve ever spent way too much time waiting for merch drops or hoping something doesn’t sell out before you can get your hands on it, you now have the opportunity to browse in-store instead of racing against online restocks.

Your next stop for everything K-pop

Kpop Friends is bringing a full lineup of fan favourites under one roof. Inside the store, you’ll find a wide array of K-pop items like photocards, posters, albums, and official merchandise and accessories. According to Kpop Friends, the brand currently has two storefront locations in Korea, and this Calgary opening marks its first step into the Canadian market.

The brand also runs a popular online store where you can browse a huge selection of albums and merch year-round. So if you want to get a sense of what you’ll find in the store, head over to their website and browse before the grand opening.

According to an Instagram post from Kpop Friends, the store will host its grand opening on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and you can expect more than just shelves of merch. Think giveaways, surprise drops, and early access to new arrivals all day long.

Kpop Friends is located right beside JD Sports and directly across from Lululemon, taking over the former Joydrop space. To get there, park at the east entrance and head inside. Once you see the Apple Store, take a left and head straight down, and you’ll see it on the left.

Kpop Friends is another example of how much Calgary’s K-pop scene has grown lately. With Sukoshi Mart opening at Southcentre Mall earlier this year, there has been a noticeable rise in places where fans can shop K-pop merch and Korean cultural items in person. Slowly but surely, it’s becoming easier to find everything locally instead of relying on online stores.

Happy shopping, Calgary!

When: Grand opening on Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: CF Market Mall – 3625 Shaganappi Tr. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free to visit
