Ka La‘i Waikīkī Beach Opens as First LXR Hotels & Resorts Property in Hawai‘i After $100 Million Redesign

15 July 20262 Mins Read

In Brief: Ka La‘i Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts, has officially opened at 223 Saratoga Road, Honolulu, Hawai‘i, following a $100 million transformation, marking the first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in Hawai‘i.

  • Ka La’i Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts – Image Credit Hilton

Ka La‘i Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts, opened on July 13, 2026, after a $100 million redesign led by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio with architectural support from Guerin Glass Architects. The property is located at 223 Saratoga Road, Honolulu, near Waikīkī Beach and Fort DeRussy Park.

The transformation included a comprehensive redesign of public spaces, guest rooms, amenity floors, outdoor areas, and dining venues. The resort now features 238 residential-style studios and suites, each with fully equipped kitchens, spa-inspired bathrooms, and private lanais offering views of the Pacific Ocean or Fort DeRussy Park.

The redesign incorporated natural materials such as wood, lava stone, and marble, as well as woven textures, custom lighting, and a curated art collection. The collection includes works by Marco Rountree, Christine Skaggs, and Suzanne Wang, with Wang’s sculptural installation Kūkulu Ola as a centerpiece.

Spa Ka La‘i has been refreshed and now offers treatments inspired by traditional Hawaiian wellness practices and locally sourced ingredients. Outdoor spaces have been revitalized through the use of alternative materials while preserving original design elements.

The property introduced three new dining concepts led by Executive Chef Yoshi Ohata. The Kini Room is an 86-seat signature restaurant with a menu featuring coastal and Pacific Rim influences. Muse Lounge, located in the lobby, serves cocktails inspired by classic Hawaiian recipes and shareable bites. Bloom Cafe & Restaurant serves breakfast and offers dishes featuring local ingredients, including Guava Cream Cheese Waffles, Mochi Pancakes, Miso Catch of the Day, and poke bowls.

The resort is offering a limited-time “Discover Luxury” package that includes a $1,000 resort credit to help guests experience the property’s new offerings.
