Mama Shelter Mexico City is accepting bookings for its Dec. 1, 2026, opening behind the preserved facades of two 19th-century casonas on Avenida Álvaro Obregón in Mexico City’s Roma Norte neighborhood.
The property will have 100 guest rooms. Room design references Mexico’s mestizaje culture, local street art and everyday Mexican life. Walls will be painted peach, and mirrors will include the phrase “Mama te apapachó,” a reference to the Mexican expression apapachar.
Mama Shelter’s in-house design team worked with two Mexican studios on the property’s design. The hotel will include an open-air courtyard with programming including DJ sets, live bands, stand-up shows by emerging local comedians, artist showcases and local run club meetups.
The hotel’s food and beverage outlets will include Mama’s Trattoria & Bar and Mama’s Kiss. Mama’s Trattoria & Bar will serve Italian comfort food, including pizzas, handmade pastas and larger dishes intended for sharing. Select dishes will be prepared tableside. Menu items include Lasagna Verde for two with spinach Béchamel and mushrooms, skirt steak with cacio e pepe ravioli, and tableside tiramisu with mascarpone and Marsala.
The bar menu will include an Italian Margarita made with tequila and limoncello, as well as a large-format Aperol Spritz. Mama’s Kiss will serve specialty coffee using beans from Ensambles, along with matcha and Italian pastries.
A rooftop is scheduled to open in spring 2027. The property will also include flexible ateliers for workshops and events and a Wellness Studio on the first floor.
Mama Shelter Mexico City will allow canine companions and provide water bowls for dogs.
The “Mama Is Getting Ready” opening offer starts at $149 USD, or MXN 2,787, per room, per night. The offer includes a cocktail at Mama Trattoria and MXN 100 credit for Mama Shop. Nightly rates will start at $250 USD, or MXN 4,676.
