Marriott International Launches Ask Bonvoy AI Search in Beta

17 June 20262 Mins Read

In Brief: Marriott International has launched Ask Bonvoy, a new AI-powered conversational search experience, in beta for a subset of Marriott Bonvoy members and users in U.S. English on Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy mobile apps.

Marriott International has launched the beta version of Ask Bonvoy, a conversational, natural language search tool designed to help Marriott Bonvoy members explore the company’s portfolio of approximately 10,000 properties in 146 countries and territories. The beta is initially available in U.S. English on Marriott.com and in the iOS and Android Marriott Bonvoy mobile apps to a subset of Marriott Bonvoy members and users who sign up for the program.

Ask Bonvoy allows members to search for stays, amenities, and experiences using conversational prompts. The platform interprets natural-language queries, identifies a member’s trip purpose, and provides curated results from Marriott’s verified property data, including information on hotel features and amenities, such as dining options, spa experiences, and recreational offerings like golf.

During the beta phase, members can use Ask Bonvoy alongside traditional search filters, such as dates and locations, or explore destinations and properties through conversational language based on travel purpose, location attributes, and desired amenities. Once a user identifies a stay through Ask Bonvoy, the experience transitions to Marriott’s existing booking capabilities to complete the reservation.

The rollout is planned as a measured release, with a full global launch expected later this year. Marriott plans to make Ask Bonvoy available to nearly 283 million Marriott Bonvoy members and global travelers who sign up for the program.

Ask Bonvoy is powered by Marriott’s proprietary AI architecture and provides responses grounded exclusively in Marriott-owned, verified property data. Over time, the model is expected to support loyalty points-based searches.

In 2024, Marriott launched a natural language search capability on its Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy platform and is collaborating with technology companies, including Google on its forthcoming Google AI Mode travel product and OpenAI on its Ad Pilot Program.
