In Brief: Jared Karras has joined Meyer Jabara Hotels as senior vice president of operations for its Full Service and Lifestyle Division following the company’s reorganization into two operating divisions.

Meyer Jabara Hotels recently reorganized its portfolio into Full Service and Lifestyle and Focus Service operating divisions. Jared Karras will lead the Full Service and Lifestyle Division, while Senior Vice President of Operations James Kirkland will oversee the Focus Service Division.
The division structure separates the company’s portfolio by product type. The operating divisions will provide operational oversight and property-level leadership for branded and independent hotels in the portfolio.
Karras joins Meyer Jabara Hotels with more than 20 years of hospitality leadership experience. He will oversee 14 branded and independent hotels representing Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brands.
The hotels in Karras’ portfolio are located in major metropolitan destinations, coastal leisure markets, university communities and regional business centers. Properties span locations from the Hamptons and New York City to Baltimore and Tallahassee, Fla.
Before joining Meyer Jabara Hotels, Karras served as regional vice president of operations for TPG Hotels & Resorts. In that role, he led a national portfolio of full-service, select-service and independent properties.
His previous positions included roles with OTO Development, Marshall Hotels & Resorts, and Sun Development & Management Corp.
Karras said his initial priorities include building relationships with property leadership teams, understanding Meyer Jabara Hotels’ operating processes and aligning with the company’s strategic priorities. He also cited the company’s use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and its plans for continued growth.
Kirkland joined Meyer Jabara Hotels in November 2024 after Griffin Hotel Management merged into Meyer Jabara Hotels. He had served as chief executive officer of Griffin Hotel Management before joining the company.
Upon joining Meyer Jabara Hotels, Kirkland assumed responsibility for operations in the company’s Western Region. He will now lead the Focus Service Division.
