Sept. 18 is National Cheeseburger Day, and the food holiday means plenty of opportunities to save on burgers at chain restaurants around the country.
What classifies as a cheeseburger can take on many forms these days, from turkey burgers topped with Swiss to flavorful bison burgers served at a gastropub, but there’s something to be said for a traditional, slightly greasy beef burger topped with melted American cheese.
And plenty of restaurants are celebrating the classic cheeseburger on National Cheeseburger Day, including sit-down spots like Buffalo Wild Wings and fast food chains like Burger King. Read on for eight restaurants offering BOGO, free, and discounted burgers on Sept. 18.
Applebee’s: Get a Classic Burger or Classic Cheeseburger with fries for only $8.99 at Applebee’s on Sept. 18. This offer is good for both dine-in and to-go orders.
Buffalo Wild Wings: On Sept. 18, for one day only, guests can buy one regular-priced cheeseburger at Buffalo Wild Wings and get a second cheeseburger of equal or lesser value for free.
Burger King: Perks Week is happening from Sept. 14 through 20 at Burger King, meaning there are lots of deals for Royal Perks rewards members all week long. On Sept. 18, the perk up for grabs for National Cheeseburger Day is a free Bacon Cheeseburger with a purchase of $3 or more.
Dairy Queen: From Sept. 14 through 18, new and existing DQ Rewards members can get an Original Cheeseburger Signature Stackburger with any DQ app order of $1 or more.
Jack in the Box: In addition to celebrating National Burger Week from Sept. 14 through 20 with lots of great burger deals, on Sept. 18 Jack in the Box is giving away a free Jr. Cheeseburger with a purchase of $1 or more.
McDonald’s: Rewards members get a free Double Cheeseburger with a purchase of $1 or more on Sept. 18 when they order using the McDonald’s app.
Smashburger: SmashRewards loyalty members can get any single Smash (from classic Smashburgers to Signature Builds) for $1 at participating Smashburger locations nationwide.
Whataburger: With the purchase of a medium fry and a medium drink, Whataburger will give customers who are signed up for Whataburger Rewards a free Bacon & Cheese Whataburger Jr. What’s more, loyalty members who redeem this offer will be entered for the chance to win Whataburger for a year, with up to 25 winners chosen.
