Netflix Executive Provides Updates On Its 2026 French Lineup: What We Learned

As Netflix is preparing to unveil a new French series at the Séries Mania festival on Friday, Flunked (Recalé), VP of French Programming Pauline Dauvin gave an extensive preview of their upcoming line-up to the major newspaper Ouest-France. What are the highlights?

While we covered the 2026 slate for Netflix France here, the streamer in this region (and the UK notably) hasn’t done any formal Next on Netflix 2026 press event, so this was a welcome update to their slate in lieu of that.

Blood Coast and Rhythm+Flow France are highlighted as major successes

Even though Pauline Dauvin did not provide a new subscriber tally for France, she did comment on the number of visitors for January 2026 according to French ratings guru Médiamétrie (32.8 million for the month). She also had an opportunity to highlight what the French Netflix brass sees as successes among local subscribers, all released last fall: the movie French Lover, the second season of Blood Coast – renewed for a third season, currently in production – and the musical format Nouvelle École, the French version of Rhythm+Flow.

Missing from the list are Young Millionaires, the sophomore season of Represent, and the adventure show Néro The Assassin, none of which are officially cancelled or in development for further seasons.

In an extended quote on the Ouest-France website, Pauline Dauvin revealed that the streamer and producers of Lupin are deep into post-production on season 4, on track for release later in the fall, something that has long been teased.

She teased more “exceptional Paris locales” for the upcoming season, even though she stopped short of confirming the Eiffel Tower would be one of them, as depicted on the first official poster. As the plot involves Assane’s son, comedian Théo Christine has been confirmed to play Raoul Diop. More interestingly, Dauvin wondered aloud why season 4 “should be the last”; the upcoming season features many behind-the-scenes changes, with a strong writers’ room for the first time in the series, and Louis Leterrier and Omar Sy serving as showrunners.

GIGN is cited as a major 2026 event

Julien Leclercq documented the shoot last year on his Instagram page. Official photos have yet to be released.

Also in post-production, the French action show GIGN, created by longtime Netflix collaborator Julien Leclercq (Ganglands) which is named after the French elite intervention unit, has been touted as a major 2026 event, with Dauvin saying “beyond the action, there is also a tense family drama”, and counts on a “very charismatic lead”, Tomer Sisley. She also picked the original Call My Agent! movie and original documentary film The Bus, which documents the French football team’s strike and national drama that ensues: Dauvin added: “the project can be watched as if it were a thriller”. The project was first announced with a teaser at the Next on Netflix French event in 2025, but it still seems to be in production. Finally, the sequel to Family Pack was also announced, but we have everything you need to know about the project here.

Emily In Paris to resume shooting

As Pauline Dauvin said that around 40 ongoing Netflix productions were currently shooting around the country, she mentioned the upcoming sixth season of Emily In Paris in the spring, “for a release later this year”, as well as the shoots for thriller movie Clean and series Les Brumes, starring Néro The Assassin star Pio Marmaï.

The integration of TF1 programs as a major strategy shift

Finally, Pauline Dauvin discussed the integration of TF1 linear channels free of charge ; the major European broadcaster announced its partnership in June of 2025, and the deployment is currently planned for the summer. It is unclear if the TF1 programs will get their own corner, but Dauvin confirmed to Ouest-France that “the recommendation tool will be used to benefit TF1 programming, we don’t think in terms of internal competition. The idea is to give subscribers even more reasons to remain on Netflix.” No additional partnerships are expected -for now – for French channels, though the rumor mill states that discussions are already happening in other countries for a similar arrangement between Netflix and broadcasters.
