Netflix Picks Up Weekly Episodes to Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom K-Drama ‘Phantom Lawyer’

Netflix has secured the international weekly streaming rights to the highly anticipated upcoming supernatural legal K-Drama, Phantom Lawyer, as part of its major deal struck with SBS. Coming to Netflix in March 2026, here is everything we know so far about the new series headlined by Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom.

Phantom Lawyer (also known as Shin and Law Office or God and Law Firm) is an upcoming internationally licensed South Korean supernatural legal-comedy series. The drama is directed by Shin Jong Hun and penned by screenwriter Kim Chul Gyu. Planning producer Park Young Soo and producer Hong Sung Chang helm the production.

The series is set to broadcast domestically on the South Korean network SBS before arriving weekly on Netflix for international audiences beginning March 13th, as confirmed by a notice on the show’s official Netflix page.

What is the plot of Phantom Lawyer?

Fans of Extraordinary Attorney Woo and The Uncanny Counter will love this quirky, feel-good show. It follows Sin I Rang, a clumsy and nervous lawyer who accidentally sets up shop in an old shaman’s house and suddenly starts seeing ghosts. When spirits with sad stories come to him for legal help, his bravery kicks in. The best part? When he works with these ghostly clients, they briefly “possess” him, making him act out their funny and dramatic personalities.

Things get even crazier when he goes up against Han Na Hyeon, a cold, top-tier lawyer who has never lost a case, until she meets I Rang. At first, she thinks his ghost stories are ridiculous, but after seeing the spooky proof herself, she teams up with him. Together, they help these phantom clients get justice, and along the way, the icy Na Hyeon finally starts to warm up and heal her own emotional scars.

Who is in the cast of Phantom Lawyer?

K-Drama fans are in for a treat with a spectacular leading cast.

Yoo Yeon Seok will play the role of the ghost-seeing lawyer, Sin I Rang. Netflix subscribers will be incredibly familiar with Yoo Yeon Seok, thanks to his beloved roles in hit shows like Hospital Playlist, Mr. Sunshine, The Interest of Love, and Narco-Saints.

Esom stars as the ruthless elite lawyer, Han Na Hyeon. Esom is no stranger to Netflix either, having recently starred in the dystopian sci-fi series Black Knight and the hit action film Kill Boksoon.

Kim Kyung Nam (The King: Eternal Monarch, Prison Playbook) also features in the core main trio for the cast as Yang Do Gyeong.

The supporting cast is also packed with phenomenal veteran talent:

• Jeon Seok Ho (Kingdom, DP) as Yun Bong Su, I Rang’s brother-in-law.
• Kim Mi Kyung (Doctor Cha, Welcome to Samdal-ri) as Park Gyeong Hwa, I Rang’s mother. It wouldn’t be a true K-Drama without the nation’s favorite TV mom!
• Son Yeo Eun (The Uncanny Counter) as Sin Sa Rang, I Rang’s sister.
• Choi Kwang Il (The Glory) as Yang Byeong Il, the Taebaek law firm chairman.
• Jung Seung Kil (Be Melodramatic) as Priest Matthew.
• Lee A Rin as Yun Da Bong, Sa Rang’s daughter.

Additionally, Heo Sung Tae (Squid Game, The Silent Sea) will make a guest appearance as Lee Gang Pung.

When is the Netflix release date for Phantom Lawyer?

We can confirm that Phantom Lawyer will premiere on Netflix on Friday, March 13th, 2026.

The drama will have a total of 16 episodes. New episodes will be released twice a week, airing on Fridays and Saturdays, with the series finale scheduled for early May 2026.
