2026 has been an incredible year so far for new anime on Netflix, from licensed content to new weekly and original titles, which doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, as even more licensed anime is on its way to Netflix in June 2026.

New Licensed Anime on Netflix in June 2026
Assassination Classroom (Season 2)

The second season of Assassination Classroom raises the stakes after the students of Class 3-E return from summer vacation, still tasked with assassinating Koro-sensei before graduation, but they must contend with Gakuhou Asano, the school’s ruthless principal, who is attempting to thwart them. However, hostility begins to seep into Class 3-E, with Nagisa Shiota at the center of a brewing conflict among his classmates, who are determined to claim the bounty on Koro-sensei for themselves.

There are an incredible number of episodes of One Piece now available on Netflix, and before long, the only remaining arc to be added will be the Wano Country Arc! At least Part 6 of the Whole Cake Island is coming to Netflix at the start of June, and we’re very hopeful that we’ll also see Parts 7 and 8, which will finally bring the entirety of the Whole Cake Island Arc to the Netflix library.
Shangri-La Frontier (Season 2)

The second season of Shangri-La Frontier continues to follow Rakurou “Sunraku” Hizutome’s adventures in the virtual reality game Shangri-La Frontier, whose playstyle has taken the game by storm. After defeating two of the seven “unbeatable monsters” in order to progress further, he sets out on an adventure with his leporine guide, Emul, to find an ancient workshop and acquire a magic operation unit. The pair is joined by Towa “Arthur Pencilgon” Amane and Kei “OiKatzo” Uomi, who appear to have their own ulterior motives for helping.

At the time of writing, Akane-Banashi has yet to debut on Netflix, but the series is currently airing in Japan. There will be a total of 24 episodes for the anime, split into two cours, with episodes airing across 2026. The first cour will finish airing on August 2, 2026, and by the summer, we may have confirmation on when the remaining episodes will be released on Netflix.
“Growing up, Akane admired her father and his rakugo, a traditional Japanese form of storytelling where a lone performer, called a rakugoka, depicts a long, complicated, and usually funny story involving multiple characters, who are distinguished by changes in pitch, tone, slight turns of the head, and hand movements, all while sitting in place. But when she was in elementary school, her father and all the other applicants were expelled from the Arakawa School during the promotional test to obtain rakugo’s third and highest rank of shin’uchi. For the first time in One Piece’s history, the series will be seasonal, releasing episodes in courses, with a maximum of 26 episodes per year. The release of the first 13 episodes is now underway, and cour 1 will end on Netflix at the start of July 2026.
