The 2026 WNBA Draft was supposed to be all about basketball history, but Azzi Fudd made sure fashion shared the spotlight.
The UConn star guard, selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings, became one of the night’s most talked-about names, not just for her talent, but for her bold outfit change that quickly went viral after the WNBA shared it on X.

Before her big moment, Fudd first arrived in a custom silver sequin gown by Coach. The dress had a reflective, shimmering finish with a black corset-style base and a sleek silver metallic Coach bag. It was a polished, red-carpet-ready look that set the tone for her night.

But just before she was officially named the No. 1 pick, everything changed.
For the main stage moment, Fudd stepped out in a completely different sequined gown: warmer, brighter and even more eye-catching under the lights.
The dress featured a deep V-neckline and a fitted silhouette that highlighted her athletic frame. Thin straps and a sleeveless cut kept the focus on the design, while the sequins created wave-like patterns in gold, copper, bronze, burnt orange, champagne and deep purple tones.
Every step she took made the dress shimmer like moving fire under the draft lights.
She kept her accessories simple, holding her hands together and showing off a few rings, including a standout diamond piece. The outfit itself did all the talking, giving her a glamorous and powerful presence as she walked onto the stage.

After her name was called, she shared an emotional moment hugging her parents at her table. She also celebrated with teammates and supporters in the crowd, including her former UConn teammate Paige Bueckers, who was seen applauding during the announcement.
Fudd later spoke about her excitement to reunite with Bueckers on the court.

The Wings now add another major young star to their roster as they aim to improve after recent struggles, with Fudd expected to play a key role in the team’s future.
