Atiana De La Hoya, the biological daughter of Oscar De La Hoya and Shanna Moakler, spoke out following a “bizarre” video shared by the former boxer encouraging men to get vasectomies.
“I’m gonna share my two cents with you,” Oscar began in a video shared via Instagram on Thursday, September 24. “Snip it. Get a vasectomy before you start making any cash. You’re young. You’re successful. You’re in good shape, and you wanna go out and party…Don’t let a night out turn into 18 years of cutting a check.”
He added, “You can reverse it when you’re ready…Don’t let the hag take your bag.”
The former welterweight champion — who shares six children with four different women — welcomed Atiana with his then-fiancée in March 1999. However, following their daughter’s birth, Oscar was caught attending an awards show with another woman.
Shanna moved on with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who largely raised Atiana as his own.
The now-27-year-old caught wind of her biological father’s post and responded via TikTok, calling it “bizarre” and “hurtful.”
“This morning, my brother sent me this video that my dad posted. This is my biological dad, Oscar. It was this really bizarre video, where he was like, ‘Listen to me, I’ve been there. Take it from me. You should get a vasectomy. You’re gonna end up with a bunch of these kids, and you’re going to have to give up your money,'” Atiana began. “These women—he actually referred to them as hags in his story—it was just very like, I wish I didn’t have my kids. Almost like Andrew Tate-esque, seeking-male-validation-style video. It was very ‘for the men.'”
She continued, “You don’t have to be his kids to see a video like that and be like, ‘Whoa, that’s a really hurtful video.'”
She went on to say that Oscar’s behavior in the video was not a surprise, adding, “He’s someone that isn’t gonna be in his kids’ lives.”
“He’s gonna live for himself, do what he wants. And yeah, it sucks, but I’ve come to take that for what it is,” she said.
Atiana — who has two older brothers, one younger brother, and two younger sisters from Oscar — added that she hopes to help others with an absent parent know that “it has nothing to do with [them].”

“I know something like that is deeply painful,” she continued. “And I also don’t know how you can film that, hand it to an editor, know how you’ve impacted your kids’ lives, know that they’re gonna watch it, and still post it.”
She went on to say that “you cannot change people who do not want to be changed.”
“When they’re on their life path, and they’re making their choices, they’re living with those choices and those consequences,” she said. “There’s always room for healing, and that starts within yourself.”
