Bain Capital and Omnam Group announced the sale of The Lake Como EDITION in Cadenabbia, Italy, to Sansiri Public Company Limited, with completion expected in the next several weeks.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The Lake Como EDITION sits on the shores of Cadenabbia, opposite Bellagio, with access to Milan and Malpensa International Airport in about an hour.
Bain Capital and Omnam Group acquired the 19th-century palazzo in late 2021 through a fund managed by Kryalos SGR. The property was acquired with vacant possession. Redevelopment began in April 2022, and the hotel opened in March 2026 as part of Marriott International’s EDITION Hotels portfolio.
The redevelopment reduced the former hotel’s room count from nearly 300 to 148 rooms and suites. The project also added a spa and wellness building, food and beverage facilities and leisure amenities, including a floating pool and beach club.
Marriott International was appointed to operate the hotel under the EDITION brand. Neri&Hu led the interiors, Mauro Colagreco shaped the signature culinary offering, and The Longevity Suite developed the wellness programming. The redevelopment received LEED Gold certification.
Marriott International will continue to operate the hotel. The acquisition adds the Lake Como property to Sansiri’s trophy-assets portfolio.
Bain Capital and Omnam Group identified demand for additional hospitality offerings in the Lake Como market when they acquired the property, citing limited five-star supply and barriers to new lakeside development.
Omnam Group has projects underway in Florence, Venice, Puglia and Sicily.
