Scandic Hotels Group has signed a long-term, revenue-based lease agreement with Corem Property Group for a 320-room hotel planned to open in Stockholm’s Globe area in 2028.
The hotel will be created by converting an existing office property at Arenavägen 7. Corem Property Group AB owns the property.
The planned hotel will have 320 rooms, including family rooms. About 40 larger rooms and suites will be located on the top floor, with several including private terraces and views of Stockholm.
The property is also planned to include meeting facilities, a wellness area, gym, restaurant, bar, parking, and spaces for events and activities.
The hotel will be located near the Gullmarsplan transport hub and will form part of Söderstaden, an urban development area in Stockholm. The area includes venues such as Avicii Arena, 3Arena, Hovet and Annexet, as well as Slakthusområdet.
Approximately 3,000 new homes and 14,000 workplaces are planned for the wider area. Slakthusområdet includes food, culture, nightlife and creative businesses.
The building is planned to receive BREEAM Very Good certification. Hotel operations are planned to receive Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification.
The hotel’s rooms will use Scandic’s Room Collection concept and incorporate circular principles and more sustainable material choices.
