Rio de Janeiro’s hotel sector reached all-time highs for average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) in May 2026, driven by major events including Shakira’s free concert at Copacabana beach and the Argus Rio Crude Conference.
Preliminary data from CoStar show that in May, hotels in Rio de Janeiro recorded an average occupancy rate of 67.0%, a 0.2% year-over-year increase. ADR rose 23.8% to BRL878.60, and RevPAR climbed 21.8% to BRL588.56. These figures represent the highest ADR and RevPAR ever recorded in May in the city, and the strongest occupancy in May since 2013.
