Being a fan is about to pay off for Canadians. Spotify, one of the most popular platforms to download and stream music, is expanding one of its premium features north of the border.

According to Spotify Canada, starting Aug. 17, 2026, eligible Premium subscribers will now have access to Reserved, an “experience that puts tickets directly in the hands of fans who have truly shown up for their favourite artists.”

How does Reserved on Spotify Canada work?

Canada is the first market outside of the U.S. that now has access to Reserved, and the concept is pretty simple.

Basically, an artist’s most dedicated fans on Spotify will have a better shot at seeing that artist live. Spotify uses streams, saves, shares and location to help target top fans. From there, two tour tickets will be held for them to purchase before the artist’s general public sale goes live.

How will you know you’re eligible? Selected fans will see the Reserved offer appear on their Spotify home screen and will be able to view available tour dates in their area. They can then set a reminder for their window to purchase tickets (typically 24 hours). Once the window opens, fans can follow a link to purchase their tickets.

“We’re building this to give something back to the fans who support artists the most—and because when artists and fans win, Spotify does, too,” Spotify shared.

The first opportunity to use Spotify Reserved in Canada

If you’re a big Jonas Brothers fan, it’s time to open up your Spotify app. According to the streaming service, the first artist  Reserved will feature in Canada is the Jonas Brothers. Eligible fans will start receiving notifications today, Aug. 17, 2026, for tickets available on Aug. 18, 2026.
