This Calgary distillery is throwing a fake wedding and you’re invited

18 August 20263 Mins Read

Ever wish you could go to a wedding without having to sit through the ceremony, speeches or awkward family photos? Calgary has an event that lets you skip straight to the good part.

True Wild Distillery is hosting Wild “Wedding” on Aug. 20, 2026, an event that turns the idea of a wedding reception into a night out that anyone can attend. There won’t be a bride or groom waiting at the altar, but there will be plenty of food, drinks, live entertainment, and lots of dancing.

So what does a wedding without a wedding actually look like? Here’s what to know.

What to expect at the Wild “Wedding”

For one night, True Wild Distillery will be transformed into a wedding reception, complete with all the little details you’d expect from the big day, just without anyone actually getting married. The distillery will become a place to dress up, grab a drink, grab a drink and spend the evening dancing and celebrating.

What happens when I arrive?

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a red-carpet entrance and photoshoot featuring a vintage silver Porsche 356 Speedster. You can take photos with the car before heading into the distillery. From there, you’ll be served a welcome glass of bubbles before settling in for dinner.

What can I eat and drink?

Come hungry because the food lineup is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Your ticket includes a champagne, two cocktails, oysters and caviar, passed canapés and even a prime rib carving station.

There will also be a smoked Old Fashioned experience and Martini Ice Luge as part of the evening, so you’ll also have the chance to try a couple of fun feature cocktails.

What type of entertainment can I expect?

Pack your dancing shoes because the music will be going all night long. Garret Barbuto and the Hot Pursuit will provide live music throughout the evening, while Cirque Nuit, a live circus and aerial performance group, will take the stage with its own performance.

Tickets, timing and details

The Wild “Wedding” will take place on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $155 per person, and the event is 18+, so please bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Your ticket includes the food, drinks, and entertainment throughout the evening, with additional drinks available for purchase at the bar during the event.

You can purchase tickets through Showpass, so be sure to grab yours and RSVP ahead of time, since there will be no tickets available at the door.

There’s also a charitable side to the evening, as $10 from every ticket sold is being donated to The Alex, a Calgary organization that provides healthcare and social services to people facing barriers to accessing care. Guests are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

So, if you’ve ever thought weddings would be a lot more fun without the actual wedding part, this is probably your kind of night. All you need is a good outfit, and True Wild will handle the rest.

When: Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026
Time: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: True Wild Distilling – 3115 11th St. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $155 per person
