WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark is in Toronto, the only question is whether or not she’s playing, Canada Reviews

18 August 20262 Mins Read

Even though the Toronto Tempo playoff aspirations are long gone, one of the biggest games of their first season is happening tonight at Scotiabank Arena when the WNBA’s most popular player, Caitlin Clark, hits town.

Clark is currently scorching the WNBA over the last couple of months and is having her best season since being drafted first overall in 2024.

Her Indiana Fever team is currently third in the league, and is 8-2 over the team’s last 10 games.

Not only is Clark one of the league’s most popular players, she also fills arenas wherever her Indiana Fever team play. And that includes Toronto, which is why the team is playing tonight’s game at Scotiabank Arena instead of their home court at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The Tempo have a number of players hurt for tonight’s game, but the good news is that they are getting a star back of their own.

Brittany Sykes will suit up for the first time since going down with an ankle injury two months ago. The Tempo has lost 16 of 19 games over that stretch.

Sykes is averaging 20.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season.

But missing starting point guard Julie Allemand along with forwards Maria Conde and Nyara Sabally will make an already difficult challenge even more so.

Of course, both Clark and fellow Fever star Aliyah Boston are currently on the injured list. Fingers crossed they play, or there will be 20,000 very disappointed fans.

But, Clark was at the team shoot around this afternoon, and both her and Boston are now listed as probable.

If everyone does play, having Clark and her WNBA All-Star backcourt mate Kelsey Mitchell matching up against Sykes and the Tempo’s own All-Star Marina Mabrey is well worth the price of admission. Which at this point is astronomical.

At the time of publication, fewer than 100 tickets remained on Ticketmaster, with the cheapest priced at just under $86 for a seat in Section 313, Row 12. Standing-room tickets were also available for $108, while resale sites such as StubHub and SeatGeek had tickets starting at around $120 for several 300-level seats.
