When asked to rate their trust in AI on a scale from 1 (no trust) to 5 (complete trust), 36% of respondents indicated complete or near-complete trust in AI to help plan travel.
The survey also found that 33.6% of respondents reported high trust in AI for providing helpful shopping tips, and 33.2% expressed high trust in AI to accurately explain things they do not understand. For work-related tasks, such as writing documents and content, 18.8% reported high trust in AI. In health, 16.9% trusted AI to advise on medical or health issues, and 15.9% trusted AI to help solve personal problems.
GuideGeek, launched in 2023, has reached over 1 million users for its free travel AI tool. The platform allows travelers to message the AI on WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook Messenger for customized itineraries and travel recommendations, using more than 1,000 integrations for travel data.
Within a year of launching, GuideGeek reported improving its response accuracy to over 98%. The platform has collaborated with destination marketing organizations and travel brands on custom AI tools, including NYC Tourism + Conventions, Tourism New Zealand, and the Aruba Tourism Authority.
Matador Network stated that high levels of trust in AI among travel consumers present opportunities for travel brands to focus on new AI integrations and conversions.
