In “Pink Clouding,” Swift sets up imagery of a “magenta sunrise” and “fuchsia forever intertwined.” She goes on to sing about being “so good” at “letting you want me” and making promises. However, she now realizes she was “pink clouding from the thrill of it.”
Swift also sings about trying to figure out how to apologize to the person, lamenting that she “didn’t want to let you down.” In the song, she suggests that she had just gotten out of a bad relationship and jumped into something new during a “cursed time.”
