The Reset’ Will Release on Netflix Globally After All

Nanno is back to expose the wicked, but things are going to look a little different this time around. The long-awaited third chapter, officially titled Girl From Nowhere: The Reset, is finally landing on Netflix globally this March. However, for international viewers, the release comes with a branding change.

It has been years since we last heard that chilling, maniacal laugh. The Thai anthology series, which first premiered in 2018 and exploded into a global cult phenomenon with its second season in 2021, has finally been dusted off for a third outing.

Here is everything you need to know about Girl From Nowhere: The Reset, who is returning, and why the Netflix Original label is disappearing for many regions.

When is Girl From Nowhere: The Reset coming to Netflix?

Netflix has confirmed that Girl From Nowhere: The Reset will premiere globally on Friday, March 7th, 2026. It’ll be available globally, as in the previous two seasons.

The Reset Won’t Be a Netflix Original

This is the biggest piece of news regarding the show’s distribution. While the original two seasons are still marketed as Netflix Originals globally, The Reset won’t follow suit, and the situation is somewhat complicated.

The first season saw Netflix come into distribution after its initial run on local network GMM 25. Netflix would then exclusively distribute the second season in May 2021, which is why the show carries full Netflix Original branding globally.

The Reset is reverting to the first-season model, in which Netflix serves only as a distributor for the show after its initial run on ONE31 (and oneD, which is distributing the uncut version). As a result, the show is listed as a separate title on Netflix and will be available globally. Subscribers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Latin America will be able to access it as a licensed import alongside Asian territories. This means you will not see the red “N” logo on the artwork in these regions.

This licensed release shouldn’t be a huge surprise, given that the show was not included amongst the roster of 2026 titles confirmed for release this year during Netflix’s Next on Netflix (What Next?) slate reveals.

Despite this, Netflix’s regional social media accounts and YouTube channels are promoting it as an Original title, as seen in the trailer below, complete with the usual Netflix branding.

What is Girl From Nowhere and The Reset? Who’s starring?

For those uninitiated, Girl From Nowhere follows the enigmatic Nanno, a girl who transfers to different schools in every episode. She is not a ghost, nor is she human; she is an entity sometimes speculated to be the daughter of Satan, perhaps, or simply Karma incarnate.

Her purpose seems to be to expose the lies, hypocrisy, and misdeeds of the students and faculty around her. Season 1 focused on Nanno’s solitary justice while season 2 expanded the lore significantly, introducing the concept that Nanno is not unique. It ended on a massive cliffhanger involving a rival, Yuri, and a new protegee, Junko, suggesting that Nanno’s power might be waning or evolving.

The Reset serves as exactly that, a reset for the franchise with a new main actress playing the role of Nanno. It’s also described as a “reimagining” of the original.

Taking on the lead role this time is Rebecca Patricia Armstrong (sometimes referred to as Becky Armstrong), who is taking over from Chicha Amatayakul. The actress can be found on Netflix in the 2023 movie Long Live Love! and 2024’s Uranus 2324.

According to official materials, this reboot is set in a separate universe “that will feature a host of unexpected new characters.”

The original creative team is back to expand on Nanno’s mysterious origins with The Reset, a six-episode series that dives into fresh, scandalous themes. Despite the “Reset” in the title, the core formula remains: Nanno arrives as the mysterious “new kid” at a different school, systematically exposing the deep-seated injustices, hypocrisy, and scandals hidden behind closed doors. Once the lesson is taught, she transfers out, leaving chaos and a few hard truths in her wake.

Behind the scenes, the production is a collaboration with the original creators and GingerX, a subsidiary of The One Enterprises. To ensure each episode feels like a cinematic event, they’ve recruited a powerhouse lineup of six top-tier directors, including the visionaries behind Netflix hits like Hunger (Dome Sittisiri Mongkolsiri), Doctor Climax (Pairat Kumwan), and Master of the House (Karn Siwaroj Kongsakul). O Pattha Thongpan, Ekkasit Thairat, and Wasuthep Ketpetch round out the directors
