The Spice Girls, Ranked by Net Worth (2026): Find Out Who Is the Richest

2 June 202613 Mins Read

In 1996, when the Spice Girls burst onto the scene with their debut single “Wannabe,” they didn’t just bring a catchy hook into the world—they ushered in an era of “girl power” that turned out to be both popular and profitable. Their first album, Spice, sold more than 23 million copies worldwide. Their 1998 “Spiceworld” Tour grossed more than $100 million. And they were ahead of their time when it came to branding, turning their image into a global phenomenon through dolls, merch and one extremely quotable movie (Spice World).

Since going on indefinite hiatus in 2000, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie “Mel B” Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm(Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) went on to have dynamic second acts. Of course, some of the former bandmates have been more successful than others, but none of them has a net worth today that is anything to sneeze at, and that’s in no small part thanks to Spice Girls royalties and reunions. (The 2019 reunion tour—which only Victoria, the richest Spice, skipped out on—generated $78 million.)

Keep reading for a breakdown of how the Spice Girls rank in terms of wealth. But whatever you do, don’t pit the ladies against one another, because that’s not a very girl power thing to do!

What did Mel B do after the Spice Girls?

Mel B, aka “Scary Spice,” was the firecracker of the Spice Girls, bringing high energy and confident vocals to the group (not to mention leopard-print outfits). After the fabulous five went their separate ways, Mel B jumped into a solo career with her debut album, Hot, releasing singles “I Want You Back” and “Tell Me.” While she wasn’t able to dominate the charts the way the Spice Girls did, she eventually found new ways to shine. On TV, she joined the judges’ table on America’s Got Talent and The X Factor UK and Australia, and on Broadway she’s starred in revivals of Rent and Chicago. She’s also had lucrative brand partnerships over the years; in 2024, she teamed up with Zumba to launch an exclusive fitness class called “Spice Up Your Moves,” available on the Zumba App. Still, of all the Spice Girls, Mel B struggled the most to maintain the wealth she generated at the height of the Spice Girls’ reign.

Was Mel B broke?

Despite making tens of millions of dollars as a Spice Girl, Mel B did indeed find herself with very little money in her bank account after leaving ex-husband Stephen Belafonte, who she accused of emotional, physical and financial abuse. (He denied all claims.) According to the reality-competition judge, she had only £700 in her bank account after they split and had to move back home with her mother in Leeds after a judge ordered her to pay Belafonte’s $350,000 legal fees as well as $5,000 a month in child support.

“People will assume, ‘She’s rich, she’s a Spice Girl,’” she said. “But I went from performing to thousands at Wembley on the Spice Girls’ 13-date Reunion Tour in 2019 to squeezing into my mum’s with my kids sleeping in bed with me.”

“I didn’t expect that to happen in my 40s after a successful career but I had nowhere else to go because I was so badly affected financially from my relationship, I had to pick up the pieces.”

In February 2024, she revealed that after years of fighting to rebuild her life, she was finally able to buy her own home. “In 2019, l had to come back to Leeds with NOTHING in my bank account. The money from the Spice Girls tour went on ENDLESS lawyers fees, his [Stephen’s] and mine,” she shared on Instagram. “’…A man’s mission was to destroy me mentally, spiritually, and financially but I wasn’t gonna let that happen.”

She married Rory McPhee in 2025.

What does Mel B pay in child support?

Mel B was ordered to pay Belafonte $5,000 a month in child support for their daughter Madison, born Sept. 1, 2011.

Her other daughters are Phoenix, born in 1999, who she shares with dancer Jimmy Gulzar, and Angel, born in 2007, who she shares with actor Eddie Murphy.

Does Mel B get child support from Eddie Murphy?

Yes. The iconic comedian has been paying Mel B $35,000 a month since 2022, which was up from the $25,000 he’d been paying her under an agreement they settled on in 2009.

How much was Mel B paid for her memoir?

According to tabloid reports, which you should take with a big grain of salt, Mel B secured a £5.2 million advance for her 2018 memoir, Brutally Honest, which delves into her rise to fame with the Spice Girls, struggles with substance abuse and allegations of abuse during her marriage to Belafonte. However, the exact terms of her book deal were not publicly disclosed.

How much did Mel B get paid for America’s Got Talent?

Mel B’s AGTpayday is not publicly available. She joined the panel of judges in Season 8 (2013) and left after Season 13 (2018). In 2025, she returned for the show’s 20th season. “I got kind of laid off and fired,” she admitted to Today’s Craig Melvin. “But yeah, I’m back now.”

Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) net worth in 2026: $30 million

What did Emma Bunton do after the Spice Girls?

Emma Bunton, aka “Baby Spice,”  was the sweet, playful Spice Girl with the pigtails and pastel outfits to prove it. After the Spice Girls stepped back in 2000, Emma released A Girl Like Me, with her single “What Took You So Long?” hitting No. 1 in the UK. Although she proved she could hold her own on the charts, she didn’t go on to have a long-lasting solo career. Beyond music, she made her mark as a radio personality, co-hosting the Heart Breakfast show from 2013 to 2018, and DJ’ing her own Sunday evening show, Emma Bunton on Heart, which is still running today. She’s also appeared on the British competition series Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice, and of course, joined Spice Girls reunions in 2007–08 and again for the 2019 stadium tour. As an entrepreneur, she cofounded the eco-friendly baby brand Kit & Kin in 2017.

Is Emma Bunton a millionaire?

She sure is. Bunton’s time with the Spice Girls brought in huge revenue through album sales, touring and royalties, and she had some success with her solo career, too. She also has steady income from her Heart FM radio work, reality competition appearances and her business Kit & Kin.

Why didn’t Emma Bunton pay her taxes?

Actually, she did pay her taxes but the confusion is understandable. In 2024, reports surfaced that she’d been involved in a tax dispute with the UK’s HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over earnings from the Spice Girls’ 2019 reunion tour. She reportedly earned around £3.9 million from the tour through her company Monsta Touring Ltd, and paid nearly £750,000 in corporation tax. When the company was voluntarily liquidated in 2021, she made an additional payment of about £185,000, believing all her tax obligations were settled.

However, HMRC later claimed there might still be an outstanding amount, sparking a lengthy back-and-forth between Bunton’s liquidators and tax officials. The dispute was resolved in late 2024 in her favor, with a final report confirming that all taxes had been properly paid and that no further money was owed.

Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) net worth in 2026: $30 million

What did Mel C do after the Spice Girls?

Melanie Chisholm, better known as Mel C or “Sporty Spice,” never met a track suit she didn’t like, which is good because after the Spice Girls split, she hit the ground running going solo. Her debut album, Northern Star, was a hit, going triple platinum in the UK and turning out chart-toppers like “Never Be the Same Again” with Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and the club banger “I Turn to You.” Over the years, she’s released several albums that explore pop, rock and electronic sounds, earning a reputation as the most musically inclined Spice Girl. Beyond her solo career, Mel C has flexed her creative muscles in theater, starring in a West End production of Blood Brothers and the 2012 UK Arena Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, and on TV as a coach on The Voice Kids.

How many solo albums has Mel C put out?

Mel C, the most successful solo Spice by a landslide, has released eight albums since 1999. Her debut, Northern Star, sold 2.5 million copies worldwide and spawned two UK No. 1 hits. She followed it with Reason (2003) and Beautiful Intentions (2005), the latter producing her massive European banger “First Day of My Life,” which topped charts in Germany, Switzerland and Portugal.

Here’s the full list of her albums:

  • Northern Star (1999)
  • Reason (2003)
  • Beautiful Intentions (2005)
  • This Time (2007)
  • The Sea (2011)
  • Stages (2012)
  • Version of Me (2016)
  • Melanie C (2020)

She’s currently working on her ninth studio album and recently released the track “Sweat.”

Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) net worth in 2026: $40 million

What did Geri Halliwell do after the Spice Girls?

Geri Halliwell, forever known as “Ginger Spice,” hung up her Union Jack dress a bit early, leaving the Spice Girls in 1998, in the middle of their world tour. Following her shocking exit, the fiery redhead launched a successful solo career, scoring UK No. 1 hits with songs like “Mi Chico Latino” and “Lift Me Up.” She released three albums and toured internationally, but also turned her attention to writing. As an author, she’s published the children’s book series Ugenia Lavender, the young adult series Rosie Frost, and two memoirs, If Only (1999) and Just for the Record (2002). She got back with the Spice Girls for their first reunion tour in 2007 and then again in 2019.

Why did Geri Halliwell quit the Spice Girls?

Halliwell stunned fans when she announced her exit in the middle of a world tour. “Sadly I would like to confirm that I have left the Spice Girls. This is because of differences between us,” she said in a statement at the time. “I’m sure the group will continue to be successful and I wish them all the best.” She concluded the message with, “P.S., I’ll be back.”

In 2019, during the Wembley Stadium show of the Spice Girls’ reunion tour, Halliwell apologized for dropping out of the group. “You know what, it finally occurred to me this afternoon, and I need to say something very, very important that I should’ve said a long time ago: I’m sorry,” she said. “I was just being a brat, and I want to say that it’s just so good to be back with the girls that I love and with you.”

She sort of walked the apology back in an interview with Scary Mommy. “I think we were just being dramatic for the stage drama,” she told the publication.

How much did Geri Halliwell’s Union Jack dress sell for?

In September 1998, Sotheby’s auctioned Halliwell’s iconic Union Jack dress, which sold for £36,200 to Hard Rock Café cofounder Peter Morton, according to the BBC. At Halliwell’s request, proceeds from the auction went to support Sargent Cancer Care for Children, as she had a benign lump removed from her breast at the age of 18.

How much does Geri Halliwell make from writing books?

Geri Halliwell has surely made millions from her children’s and YA books (the two novels in her ongoing Rosie Frost series are New York Times bestsellers). But an exact figure isn’t publicly available. As for her memoirs, she reportedly made £1 million upfront for her first autobiography and signed a £500,000 deal for her second, but those figures were never confirmed by anyone with direct knowledge of her contracts.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) net worth in 2026: $450 million (combined with husband David Beckham)

What did Victoria Beckham do after the Spice Girls?

As Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham was the stylish, polished and arguably standoffish Spice Girl. After the group went on hiatus, she launched a solo music career, releasing singles like “Not Such an Innocent Girl” and “A Mind of Its Own.” But her biggest spotlight — her total career reinvention — arrived in 2008, when she shifted her focus to fashion and launched her own label. Today, Beckham is a respected designer with a spot among the fashion elite (and right next to Anna Wintour), and in 2019, she expanded her brand to include a beauty line.

On screen, Beckham has starred in five documentaries and reality shows, including Victoria’s Secrets (2000), Being Victoria Beckham (2002), The Real Beckhams (2003), Victoria Beckham – A Mile in Their Shoes (2004) and Victoria Beckham: Coming to America (2007). She also appeared in her husband’s 2023 Netflix docuseries, Beckham, and will feature in her own such Netflix project, Victoria Beckham, out Oct. 9.

How much is Victoria Beckham’s fashion line worth?

As of 2024, Victoria Beckham’s fashion and beauty brand reported annual revenues of approximately £112.7 million (about $151.8 million), marking its fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth, according to WWD.

Despite its growth, however, The Guardian reported in 2025 that the company faced financial challenges, including a reported operating loss of £4.8 million in 2024. To support its expansion and operational needs, Beckham and her husband, David Beckham, and private equity firm Neo Investment Partners collectively invested £6.2 million into the business. Overall, the financials do not necessarily suggest a company in peril, but rather one that is figuring out how to rapidly expand in a complicated luxury market.

Was Victoria Beckham born into a rich family?

In the 2023 Netflix docu-series Beckham, Victoria famously insisted that she came from a “working class” family — then admitted that her father drove her to school in a Rolls Royce. (Her parents created their own electronics supply company and raised three kids in Essex, England.) Whether her father’s car means she was “rich” growing up is unclear, but let’s just say she didn’t become Posh Spice for nothing.

“My dad worked really hard to have the money for us to have a nice house,” Victoria told told Vogue in 2017. “My family brought me up telling me I could achieve absolutely anything. Whenever I said I can’t do it, my dad, he just wouldn’t hear it.”

What is the Victoria Beckham documentary on Netflix?

Beckham was the subject of the three-part docuseries, Victoria Beckham, which offered a closer look at her life and career as she “prepares for her most ambitious runway show yet at Paris Fashion Week,” per Netflix. It premiered Oct. 9, 2025.
