The Voice returns for its 30th season to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with a three-night premiere event that continues Tuesday, Sept. 22 and Wednesday, Sept. 23 with a new panel of coaches and Parade has a sneak peek at one of the funnest Blind Auditions of the season.
Returning to the big red swivel chairs are fan favorites Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, and joining for the first time are Queen Latifah and country star Riley Green, who will start picking their teams from Blind Auditions.
In this early release video from The Voice, 21-year-old Hazel Gerson from San Jose, CA, performs Alex Clare‘s “Too Close” during the Blind Auditions and manages to get two chairs to turn: Kelly first and then Riley, who will battle it out to win Hazel.

“It was awesome,” Riley said. “Hazel is a very Alabama name by the way. You can be Southern and don’t even know it. And the camouflage thing. There’s a lot of things going on here that can really makes a lot of sense. It feels right to me. It definitely was not country, but there’s something really cool about music that just touches people.”
Then Kelly made her pitch, “I wanted to start coaching and here’s why: I loved your sound but what I would love to work on with you is releasing that last level. There’s so much more in there — not only vocally — I mean like your actual spirit. When I was watching you, I was like, ‘Just let it out.’ I just want that lion in there.’”
Then Hazel interrupted Kelly to say, “I love that. Also the long hair looks really be beautiful by the way.”
And that’s when things got crazy with Kelly saying, “Thank you. I will give it to you. It’s clipped in. You can have it,” and she pulled out a hank of hair. Then she continued, “I will share. Don’t you want a coach who will share with you? And look, I have this really cute jacket.”
At that point, Riley jumped in, showing Hazel his prize to his team members, “You would look really good in overalls.”
Adam tried to reign things in by telling everyone to sit down.
But Riley continued, “I’ll be honest with you. I saw this hair up close and I don’t know if you want it.”
Adam took back control telling Hazel, “I’m going to ask you a hard question right now. Who do you think is your coach?”
To which Hazel said, “I’m really bad with decisions but this is an easy one…”
