KosmoCon is coming to West Edmonton Mall for a full weekend of choreography lessons, dance competitions, and interactive experiences all celebrating one thing: K-pop.
West Edmonton Mall and YEGKPOP are coming together this September to bring the inaugural KosmoCon K-pop Convention to the city. This weekend will be here to focus on all things K-pop, from unique local vendors and interactive brand experiences to random play dance, choreography sessions, and dance competitions. Not to mention, there’s going to be a special music group making their Canadian debut during this exciting event.
If you’re ready to compete, meet one of your favourite idols, or just swing by for a good time, let’s get into things.
What to expect at KosmoCon
For those wanting to show off their moves: now’s your chance!
KosmoCon’s inaugural dance competition brings together K-pop dancers from across Western Canada. Here, you’ll be able to showcase your talents on the main stage at West Edmonton’s Ice Palace. Bring your best moves, because you’re going to want to impress the guest judges making an appearance.
First place in the competition will win $1,000, second place will win $700, and third place will win $500. You’re able to apply to compete online, with applications closing on Aug. 18 at noon.
If you’re not interested in the competition part, there will also be choreography sessions, and random play dance opportunities open to all ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis.
Or, you don’t even have to participate in the dancing at all. The convention will be welcoming ONEUS to KosmoCon for their Canadian debut. You can watch their performances or add on the exclusive fan experiences like a Fansign and Hi-Touch.
No matter what you decide to get up to, there’ll be no shortage of K-pop fun this weekend.
