These rescued cows are artists and their paintings are coming to Toronto

26 October 20262 Mins Read

Move over, Picasso! There’s a new group of artists in town, and they just so happen to be cows. Cows on Canvas is an upcoming art exhibit coming to Toronto next month, and it features art made entirely by, you guessed it, cows.

On Saturday, Nov. 14, Farmhouse Garden Animal House, an animal sanctuary located in Uxbridge, Ont., will bring the one-of-a-kind art exhibit to The Lab.

Celebrating 10 years of sanctuary, the farm will display abstract paintings created by its rescued cows.

But how exactly does a cow create a painting? Well, with a little help from their human friends, of course!

The cows are presented with a paint-covered canvas protected by plastic, which they use their tongues to transform into one-of-a-kind works of art.

A wide selection of these works of art will be on display, alongside resident photography and exclusive sanctuary merchandise.

Paired with live musical performances and some light bites, you’re in for a wonderful evening.

But the best part of it all is that you’ll get the chance to take home one of the beautiful masterpieces.

Early bird tickets are on sale starting at $30. The Lab is located at 108 Dundas St. W.

When: Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026
Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: The Lab, 108 Dundas St. W.
Cost: $30
