This Ontario city is Canada’s top partying destination and it’s not Toronto

30 October 20262 Mins Read

According to a recent report by Uber, Ontario is home to Canada’s top partying destination, but it’s not Toronto that holds the honour.

Releasing its fifth annual Nightlife Index on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the ridesharing app revealed that, of all places, London, Ont., is the number one city in the country for partying.

It makes sense, given the city’s substantial student population, but a city’s got to be really good at partying to dethrone one like Toronto, which boasts a population nearly 10 times the size.

This marks the fourth time the Ontario city has landed the first-place slot, after being dethroned just once by Toronto in 2024.

Toronto didn’t even manage to land in the top three Canadian cities for partying, as it turns out. Winnipeg secured a second-place finish, while Lethbridge, Alta., came in third.

Toronto ended up in fifth place, sandwiched between Kitchener-Waterloo in fourth and Halifax in sixth. And as someone who has lived in both Halifax and Toronto, I’d argue that those two positions ought to be swapped.

Since the list was created using aggregated and anonymized data from Uber and Uber Eats, such as late-night trips and food orders, I guess I stand corrected.

The study also showed that New Year’s Eve, Halloween Night, and Halloween Weekend are the three biggest holidays for partying (no surprise there), and that, on average, Canadians stay out the latest on Halloween.

As for hangover cures, Canadians have been ordering those in spades, too. The most popular? None other than classic hot coffee, followed, as it so often is, by hash browns, breakfast wraps, bagels, and iced coffee.

Here’s to another year of partying, Canada!
