Tim Hortons brings back discontinued menu favourite fans begged for, Canada Reviews

17 September 20263 Mins Read

For years, Tim Hortons customers have taken to social media to lament the disappearance of a beloved sauce from the Tims menu. Well, the chain has finally heard their pleas and brought it back.

On Wednesday, Tim Hortons announced that “the classic tangy-sweet flavour of Honey Mustard” returned to its restaurants across Canada as of Sept. 16, after what the chain describes as “passionate social posts” from customers.

“You love Honey Mustard on your Turkey Bacon Club at Tims so much that you’ve never let us forget it,” the chain said in a press release, adding that customers can now choose between Honey Mustard and mayonnaise on the Turkey Bacon Club, while Honey Mustard can also be added to any Tims sandwich for a limited time.

Torontonians have been pleading for the sauce’s return online for years, with some sounding genuinely devastated by its disappearance.

“I went to get my usual sandwich today only to be completely shocked by the news that Tim Hortons has discontinued honey mustard,” one disappointed Redditor posted back in 2022, adding, “I know worse things are happening in the world right now but please…this hit hard.”

Another Toronto commenter said they were “heart broken” after trying to order honey mustard and mayo on a ham and cheese sandwich and finding out the sauce was gone.

“I left sad and empty handed,” they wrote, while another joked(?), “…it’s like they get off on playing with our emotions…and they think bringing in Justin Bieber timbits makes it all ok.”

Not surprisingly, fans are pretty excited about the Honey Mustard comeback, although not everyone is convinced it’s the same sauce they remember.

“Omg we are SO BACK,” one user under a Toronto Subreddit wrote after word of its return began circulating.

“Im surprised it ever left, it was always the best one,” another user commented, while someone else said, “This better be real bro I’ve been mourning the honey mustard for like 10 years.”

One commenter called it the “First GOOD change they’ve made with their sandwiches in a decade,” before making another request: “Now just leave this sandwich alone, please.”

Some honey mustard connoisseurs scrutinized the photos of the revived sauce and questioned whether it looked like the original.

“I’m skeptical, the original honey mustard was more glossy, this looks different,” one person wrote.

“Yeah if it’s not highlighter yellow, what’s the point?” another added.

If nothing else, Tim Hortons is clearly in its nostalgia era, with the Honey Mustard comeback arriving just weeks after its Harry Potter-themed Halloween menu and Hogwarts-inspired getup.
