You can find original artwork starting at $30 at this Calgary market

27 October 20263 Mins Read

Buying original art can get expensive, but you can find pieces for as little as $30 at a Calgary art market returning next month. Supermarché de l’Art is taking over cSPACE Marda Loop on Saturday, Nov. 7, with more than 1,500 pieces of original artwork by local artists priced between $30 and $300.

The market was created to make art more accessible and give Calgarians a chance to discover local artists without the high price tags often associated with buying original artwork.

Here’s everything you need to know about the event, from what you’ll find at the market to when and where you can check it out.

What to know about Supermarché de l’Art

What is Supermarché de l’Art?

S.M.Art, a local non-profit organization focused on making art more accessible and affordable, organizes the market. The organization hosted its first market in November 2025, creating an event where people could discover and purchase artwork without the intimidation or high prices. The market is free to attend, so you can browse the artwork without paying an admission fee or registering ahead of time.

What can I find while I’m there?

According to S.M.Art, the market will feature more than 1,500 artworks from around 50 local artists, including both francophone and anglophone creatives. You can browse paintings, drawings, photographs, and illustrations featured in the event’s previous edition, with prices ranging from $30 to $300.

Rather than displaying the artwork on walls, the pieces will be arranged in boxes for you to flip through.

You’ll also have an opportunity to meet some of the artists behind the work, as S.M.Art encourages them to attend the event and connect with visitors.

When and where is Supermarché de l’Art

Supermarché de l’Art will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Studio Theatre inside cSpace Marda Loop in southwest Calgary. Free parking will be available on the north side of the building, with additional free street parking along 29th and 30th Avenue.

If you’ve been looking to spruce up your home without spending a fortune, head over to Supermarché de l’Art this November to find some new pieces for your walls!

When: Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Studio Theatre at cSPACE Marda Loop — 1721 29th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free admission
