You can hang out with alpacas and grab a free pumpkin at this Alberta farm

15 September 20263 Mins Read

Kirk’s Alpaca Farm is celebrating the arrival of fall with a one-day Harvest Event. Along with spending time with more than 100 alpacas, you can join a fall scavenger hunt, pick up sweet treats, and get a temporary face tattoo. You won’t leave empty-handed either, as every guest gets a pumpkin and sunflower to take home.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Kirk’s Harvest Event.

What to expect at Kirk’s Harvest Event

 What is Kirk’s Alpaca Farm?

Kirk’s Alpaca Farm is a family-run farm just outside Three Hills, Alta. According to Kirk’s Alpaca Farm, the farm started with 38 alpacas in 2019, opened to the public in 2020, and now has more than 110 alpacas on the property.

During a regular visit, you can walk around the pasture, feed the alpacas, and, if you’re lucky, even pet some of the baby alpacas. There’s also a playground, basketball court, and a farm store that sells alpaca products and other local goods.

What is Kirk’s Harvest Event?

The Harvest Event is a one-day fall celebration that includes seasonal activities, time with the alpacas, and a few extra surprises you wouldn’t typically get during a regular farm visit.

You can take part in a fall scavenger hunt, grab a balloon animal, or stop by for a temporary face tattoo. Every guest will also get to take home a pumpkin and sunflower from the farm.

When is Kirk’s Harvest Event?

The Harvest Event is happening on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If you can’t make it to this event, Kirk’s Alpaca Farm hosts plenty of other events throughout the year, so you’ll have other chances to visit the alpacas later in the season.

How much are tickets to the event?

Tickets to the Harvest Event are $28.61 per person for teens, adults, children, and seniors, which includes the $26.99 ticket price plus the online booking fee. Babies 23 months and younger can attend for free.

When booking online, you’ll have an opportunity to choose your arrival times, with options at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Once you’re inside the farm, you’ll have until 5:30 p.m. to explore the space.

Where is Kirk’s Alpaca Farm?

Kirk’s Alpaca Farm is located about 10 minutes west of Three Hills, Alta. If you’re heading in from Calgary, Drumheller or Red Deer, the farm is roughly an hour away from each of those locations.

When: Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026
Time: Slots at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Where: Kirk’s Alpaca Farm – Range Rd. 255 Torrington, Alta.
Cost: $28.61 per person
