You can soar over B.C.’s Okanagan in a hot air balloon this summer and fall

25 August 20262 Mins Read

If you love heights and scenic journeys from up above, you need to add a hot air balloon ride over B.C.’s Okanagan to your summer or fall itinerary.

Considered one of the best of its kind in North America, Okanagan Ballooning takes passengers over stunning lakes, vineyards, and country farms, with plenty of unparalleled photo-ops on the journey.

Know before you book

The family-owned and operated hot air balloon service has been flying out of the Okanagan Valley for two decades, operating a six-passenger balloon nicknamed “Aurora.”

When are hot air balloon rides offered in 2026?

You don’t have to rush to book before summer officially wraps up. You have until Oct. 12 to enjoy the beauty of Kelowna from the skies!

Who will fly the hot air balloon?

Pilot John Klempner has been a keen hot air balloon pilot since 1994, acquiring his Transport Canada Pilot Licence in 1997.

How much does each flight cost?

Standard flights cost $425 to 450 per person, or you can book a romantic three-hour flight for two for $1,950.

How long is each flight?

Each ride takes anywhere between 45 minutes and three hours, depending on the weather.

Want to extend your journey? Passengers can fly over Vernon for an extra $75.

Whether you want to take to the skies before summer ends, or prefer to wait for the changing fall colours, this is an incredible, scenic experience to add to your B.C. bucket list.

Looking for more outdoor destinations to visit in the province before the season comes to a close? These turquoise lakes are a must-visit, and many have plenty of hiking options nearby.

When: Available through Oct. 12, 2026
Time: Time slots available between 7 and 8:15 a.m.
Where: 848 Leon Ave., Kelowna
Cost: $450 per person for standard trips, $1,950 for two people
