What a time to be alive. The cherry blossoms are absolutely breathtaking right now, Journey and Disclosure are in town with major concerts, and there’s a two-day spring market with over 70 local vendors to check out. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (April 17-19).

Known for their decades of chart-topping songs and electrifying stage performances, iconic rock band Journey is taking their final bow. Their new North American tour has 60 dates across the continent, and they’re stopping in Vancouver at the end of this week, giving fans one last chance to experience their undeniable pull live. Rock ‘n roll wouldn’t be rock ‘n roll without them!

You’ll find over 70 local makers and artists at this year’s Portobello West, AKA Vancouver’s Original Makers Market. The first 100 people to purchase advance tickets are automatically entered into a $50 shopping spree draw to use during this market, so it’s definitely worth securing your spot ahead of the weekend. Who knows what treasures you’ll uncover here!

Grammy-nominated electronic duo Disclosure is performing at the PNE Forum this Saturday, and it’s set to be an unforgettable night of infectious, high-energy beats.

The Warriors are up against the Philadelphia Wings at Rogers Arena this weekend.

This Saturday, JD Rich’s eight-person Purple Comet Orchestra will be performing the iconic music from your favourite Nintendo classics, including Mario, Zelda, and Kirby, for starters. It’s set to be a night of nostalgic live music and gaming at Rec Room Granville.

The Museum of Vancouver is hosting a special Earth Day workshop that dives into the local ecosystems surrounding the museum and beyond. Guests will also have the chance to make their own salves (from locally harvested Lemon Balm) and drink a variety of teas made from invasive plants and “weeds.”

Maybe you’re more of a metal head, in which case, you won’t want to miss out on the 7th annual Hyperspace Metal Fest, AKA Canada’s premier melodic/power metal festival! With three days of back-to-back concerts to check out at the Rickshaw and the Colbalt, there’s sure to be a show for every fan of the genre.
