Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has introduced a native ChatGPT application, allowing travelers to discover and book hotels across its global portfolio through conversational search and visual navigation. The app is available within OpenAI’s ChatGPT and is the first native hotel app from a major economy and midscale franchisor in the United States.
The ChatGPT app enables users to explore approximately 8,400 hotels through map-based navigation, amenity filters, and interactive hotel cards. Travelers can refine search results using natural-language prompts and then transition to WyndhamHotels.com to complete bookings.
This launch is Wyndham’s second major integration with large language models. In 2025, Wyndham became the first major hotel company to go live on Anthropic’s Claude and is planning an upcoming integration with Google’s AI Mode. The company is embedding AI across its operations, including call centers and the Wyndham Connect platform, which is powered by Canary and offers AI-driven guest engagement tools to franchisees at no incremental cost.
Wyndham reports that its AI-powered tools have contributed to a 7% reduction in average call handle times in its call centers, resulting in time savings for guests and franchisees and improvements in agent training and conversion rates. The Wyndham Connect and Wyndham Connect PLUS platforms provide opt-in AI tools for hotel owners and staff, supporting guest engagement, automating routine operations, and generating new revenue opportunities. These platforms have handled millions of AI-driven interactions and have been associated with increased upsell revenue, reduced call volumes, and more direct bookings. The most engaged hotels last year averaged more than $60,000 in incremental revenue, with the highest performing hotel exceeding $200,000.
