Gencom has acquired Rosewood London, a 308-key hotel at 252 High Holborn in Central London. The purchase is Gencom’s first luxury hotel acquisition in Europe and its second owned Rosewood asset, following its 2017 acquisition of Rosewood Bermuda.

HVS Hodges Ward Elliott represented the seller in the asset sale. HSBC and Santander provided a £225 million senior debt financing package for the acquisition and development of Rosewood London.

The hotel occupies a freehold site in Central London and is housed in a 1912 building near Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House, the British Museum and Somerset House. The 50 ranked Rosewood London No. 56 on its Best Hotel in the World for 2026 list.

Rosewood London underwent a transformation between 2011 and 2014, led by Tony Chi Studios. The work covered guest rooms, public areas, culinary offerings, and meeting and event spaces.

The hotel’s accommodations include guest rooms, suites and seven Houses, which measure up to 185 square meters. The Manor House Suite has an independent street entrance.

The property includes Holborn Dining Room, which has a street entrance and an interior designed by Martin Brudnizki. Brudnizki also designed Scarfes Bar, which has live jazz programming. The Gin Bar has more than 300 varieties of gin, and Mirror Room serves all-day dining and an artist-inspired Afternoon Tea.

Gencom’s portfolio includes and has included properties operating under Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Thompson Hotels, InterContinental Hotels, Andaz, Fairmont and Auberge Resorts brands.
