Calgary’s Waterfront Park is about to become one giant riverside dance floor this September. The Zen Garden Festival is taking over the park with three lush garden spaces, each bringing its own music to the Bow River. Expect house, disco, bass, hip-hop, funk, and soul, alongside art, food, and cantinas throughout the grounds.

What to expect at the Zen Garden Festival
What is the Zen Garden Festival?
The Zen Garden Festival is an 18+ end-of-summer music festival focused on disco, bass, hip-hop, house music and more. The festival first took over Waterfront Park in 2022 and has since returned to the same location each year, growing into the three-stage festival it is today.
When is the Zen Garden Festival?
The festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, from 2 to 11 p.m. That gives you nine hours to spend at the festival, from the afternoon through to the evening.
Who is performing at the festival?
The 2026 lineup has a mix of international, Canadian and local talent, with 17 acts set to perform throughout the day. Here’s who’s on the bill:

When will the performance schedule be released?
While the 2026 lineup has already been announced, individual performance times haven’t been released yet. According to Zen Garden Festival, the full schedule will be announced the week before the event. So if you have a certain artist you’d like to see, check the festival’s website closer to the event for their set time so you can plan your day accordingly.
What else can I do besides listening to music?
Alongside the music, live performers and art installations will be featured throughout the grounds, adding to the garden-inspired setting. You can grab something to eat from one of the food trucks or stop by the cantina for some refreshments.
Can I leave the festival and then come back?
No. Zen Garden is a no-re-entry event, so once you leave the festival grounds, you will not be allowed back in for the rest of the day. There are no exceptions to this rule, so you’ll need to make sure you have everything you need with you before heading through the gates.
What should I bring with me?
Since the festival is an 18+ event, you’ll need a government-issued photo ID to get through the gates, and you’ll need your Showpass ticket on your phone ready to scan.
The festival also recommends dressing appropriately for the weather and bringing any essentials you’ll need to spend a day outdoors comfortably.
What am I not allowed to bring into the festival?
A few items aren’t permitted inside the festival, so check the list before you head out to the park. Everyone will be searched at the gate, so leave any prohibited items at home. Here are some of the main things to avoid bringing into the park:
- Alcohol, food, or drinks
- Drones
- Umbrellas
- Fireworks or Flares
- Animals (except registered service animals)
- Large chairs
- Body glitter and feathers
What happens if it rains?
The festival is a rain-or-shine event, so the event will go ahead no matter what. Tickets are non-refundable, so check the weather forecast before heading out and come prepared for the conditions.
How do I get there?
The Zen Garden Festival will take place at Waterfront Park in northwest Calgary, along the Bow River near Bowness Park. If you’re driving, on-site parking will be available at the park, but spaces are first-come, first-served.
Overflow parking will also be available if the main lots fill up, although the festival recommends taking an Uber or cab instead. An Uber pickup zone will be set up at the event, so you can easily arrange a ride home once the event wraps up at 11 p.m.
How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available through Showpass. Unfortunately, if tickets sell out online, you won’t be able to buy one at the door. So if you’re considering going, it’s worth grabbing your ticket now.
If plans change, you can also transfer your ticket to someone else through Showpass, so you don’t have to let it go to waste if you can no longer make it. As for pricing, the festival is now in its final ticket tier, with tickets listed at $143.35.
