Calgary is getting a Halloween bar crawl with costume contests and live DJs

14 October 20263 Mins Read

The Fright Crawl returns to Calgary this Halloween, with four bar crawls planned across the city. The event runs from Oct. 29 to 31, and each crawl includes costume contests, live DJs, and a big party to close out the night. Participating bars will also offer drink specials, and each night will feature its own lineup of venues.

Here’s a breakdown of all four crawls, including dates, participating bars, and ticket prices.

What to expect at the Fright Crawl

What is the Fright Crawl?

The Fright Crawl is a Halloween bar-hopping event that takes place across downtown Calgary. Rather than spending the night at one venue, you’ll follow a planned route through several bars and clubs, with one wristband covering entry at participating stops.

According to organizers, there are four crawls scheduled for Halloween weekend, running from Thursday, Oct. 29 to Saturday, Oct. 31.

Each crawl will have a different starting venue and route, so you can choose the one that best fits your plans. An on-site host will also help guide you between stops, along with a live crawl map that shows all venue locations.

Which bars are participating?

The Thursday crawl starts at Greta Bar YYC, then heads to Bottlescrew Bill’s Pub, Velvet Room, and Rumur, with GULBAR hosting the final stop.

On Friday, the crawl begins at Four Dogs Brewing Company and continues at Commonwealth Bar and Stage, Velvet Room, Rumur, and Bottlescrew Bill’s Pub before wrapping up at Fire N Ice Bar and Sheesha Lounge.

On Saturday, you’ll have two options. The daytime crawl starts at Social Beer Haus and stops at Bottlescrew Bill’s Pub, Greta Bar YYC, and Velvet Room, plus additional venues to be announced.

For the Saturday night crawl, you will start at Commonwealth Bar and Stage, then visit the Velvet Room, Eve Lounge, Fire N Ice Bar, and Sheesha Lounge.

How much are tickets?

Ticket prices vary depending on which crawl you choose. Thursday night’s crawl costs $29.30, while Friday night’s event costs $57.21. Saturday’s daytime party costs $34.87, and if you want to head out on Halloween night, the evening crawl costs $79.56.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance, and since this is an adults-only event, you must bring a valid, government-issued ID.

What does my ticket include?

Your ticket includes a wristband that gives you entry to every participating venue on your chosen crawl route. You’ll also get drink specials at select venues, live DJs at participating bars, and a final party at the night’s final stop.

Your ticket also includes a digital Halloween passport, letting you collect virtual stamps as you visit each bar; once you complete the passport, you will receive a personality Crawl Wrapped recap card after the event.

So grab your friends, get your costumes ready, and choose which of the four crawls you’ll join this Halloween.

When: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2027 to Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Where: Location varies based on date
Cost: Starting at $29.30
