Here’s when Calgary’s outdoor pools reopen for the 2026 season

21 May 20264 Mins Read

As the weather begins to warm up, you might start getting that itch to head outside and cool off in the water. Luckily, Calgary has a great selection of outdoor pools that are getting ready to reopen for the 2026 season.

According to the City of Calgary, there are 8 pools spread across different neighbourhoods, making it pretty easy to find one near you. Most of them are set to open in mid-June, and we’ve listed all of the opening dates, so you can start planning your first pool day of the year.

Let’s jump into it!

We’re starting things off strong with Bowview Pool in Bowness. It’s got a large main pool with a large slide, plus a smaller kiddie slide and a shallow wading pool for babies and toddlers, making it perfect for all ages.

When: Opens on Monday, June 8, 2026
Time: Daily schedule varies
Where: 1910 6th Ave. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

Forest Lawn Pool is a bit of a hidden gem with a large, deep pool, a shallow wading pool, and plenty of space to relax. It’s also super affordable this year, coming in at only $2 per person, making it a great low-cost option.

When: Opens on Monday, June 8, 2026
Time: 12 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Where: 1706 39th St. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $2 per person

While Highwood Outdoor Pool is a bit smaller than some of the others, it’s still an amazing spot to swim, with plenty of space to chill, and a park right beside it.

When: Opens on Monday, June 8, 2026
Time: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: 25 Holmwood Ave. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

If you’re looking for a more traditional pool setup, the Silver Springs Outdoor Pool features a 33-metre main pool with both shallow and deep ends.

It also has diving boards like a 1-metre springboard and a 3-metre platform, making it a great pick if you want a more active swim.

When: Opens on Monday, June 8, 2026
Time: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: 5720 Silver Ridge Dr. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

This pool has all the bells and whistles with a heated main pool, lap lanes, a spray deck, a shallow tot area, and an accessibility ramp. There’s also a ton of space on the deck, so it works just as well for swimming as it does hanging out.

When: Opens on Monday, June 8, 2026
Time: 12 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Where: 3130 16th St. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

This southeast Calgary pool has a little bit of everything. There’s a heated 25-metre lap pool, along with two waterslides: a larger one and a smaller mini slide.

When: Opens on Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 12 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Where: 2094 69th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

Mount Pleasant Outdoor Pool has that classic neighbourhood feel, with a shallow entry area, a deeper end, and a waterslide for a bit of extra fun.

When: Opens on Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 9:45 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Where: 2130 6th St. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

Last but definitely not least, Stanley Park Outdoor Pool has a heated 25-metre pool, a wading area, a splash zone, and a small waterslide. This one you do need to plan ahead for, since public swimming has to be booked online in advance.

When: Opens on Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Where: 4011 1A St. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $6 per person

We’re inching closer to summer every day, and it really starts to show once the outdoor pools open again. The days when you’re tanning by the pool, hopping in and out of the water until the sun goes down, aren’t far out of reach anymore.
