New Pokémon Merch Is Literally out of This World

2 October 20262 Mins Read

We’ve always said Pokémon needs a game set entirely in space so we can see all our favorite characters in a space suit. While that dream hasn’t been realized yet, the Pokémon Company has taken another step toward making it happen: space Pokémon merchandise.

In celebration of World Space Week — which takes place from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10 — The Pokémon Company International and the European Space Agency (ESA) have teamed up to take everyone’s favorite electric-type Pokémon to the stars in an effort to “inspire the next generation of explorers.” The exclusive collection is now officially available for purchase.

Everything you need to know about the Pokémon and ESA collaboration

This new collaboration brings a range of items, including exclusive space-themed selections, with some available only on the Pokémon Center’s US website.

When we say some of this new merchandise is the most adorable thing we’ve ever seen, that’s putting it mildly. Pokémon’s mascot steals the show with two new Pikachu plushies in astronaut gear. The male variant is white, while the female is a crisp dark blue.

The collection also includes pins and patches featuring Pikachu in its space suit, along with other Pokémon like Lunatone, Minior, and Cosmog — none of which would look out of place floating in the cosmos.

If you’d rather wear your merchandise, don’t fret: there’s plenty to choose from. Looking for a nice jacket? The ESA dark-blue bomber jacket pairs well with the ESA light-blue T-shirt, featuring a design of Pikachu wading through the stars.

The only items in the collection fans will need to wait for are the decorative astronaut Pikachu figure and the 1,000-piece space Pikachu puzzle set. At the time of writing, neither The Pokémon Company nor ESA has said when fans can expect to buy them, so keep a close eye on the Pokémon Center shop for updates.

If you’re a fan of all things space and Pokémon, now’s your time. You can view the full collection now at the Pokémon Center. Run — or should we say float — there ASAP, or risk missing your chance to score incredible merchandise.
