GO Transit passengers travelling on the Stouffville line this weekend will need to make alternative arrangements as planned construction shuts down train service on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8.
According to Metrolinx, no GO trains will operate along the entire Stouffville line during the two-day closure.
Replacement GO buses will serve Old Elm, Stouffville, Mount Joy, Markham, Centennial and Unionville GO stations before travelling directly to Union Station Bus Terminal.
There will be no GO Transit service at Milliken, Agincourt or Kennedy GO stations throughout the weekend.
Passengers travelling between these stations and downtown Toronto are advised to use TTC services instead.
Metrolinx says the weekend shutdown will allow crews to carry out construction and maintenance work to support faster and more frequent service in the future.
Separately, rail repairs at the Eureka Street crossing are scheduled between Nov. 6 and 9, with intermittent road closures and pedestrian detours expected.
Passengers should check the latest schedules at GO Transit’s website before travelling. Planned construction will also affect Lakeshore East GO train service this weekend.
