One of Toronto’s top foodies shares the 5 new Toronto restaurants you have to try, Canada Reviews

9 June 20262 Mins Read

Digital creator Jordan Shore (@jordshore) is here with a hit list of Toronto openings worth knowing about. From hidden King East gems to already-packed date-night spots, these are the new restaurants and buzzy hangouts everyone will soon be claiming they discovered first.

1. The Rosebud

A true hidden gem on King Street East, The Rosebud is a chic neighbourhood spot, from chef Eric Valente and partner Tam Phan, serving dishes with Asian, French and Italian influences. The beloved scallop dish may be gone with the new spring menu, but there’s still plenty worth going back for. 498 King St. E.
On the table: The ricotta lemon agnolotti and potato bread with honey butter are non-negotiables.

2. The Dirty Laundry

Major Toronto industry players Robin Goodfellow and Aldo Pescatore-Tardioli are behind this funky new West Queen West spot bringing a much-needed sense of affordability back to the city. Come for the cocktails (most are just $13–$16) and stay for the Tex-Mex-inspired menu. 1186 Queen St. W.
On the table: The club and the blistered shishitos are the move.

3. Liliana

Liliana

One of the hardest reservations to score in Toronto, Liliana has quickly become a go-to date night spot thanks to chef Marvin Palomo’s Asian-influenced Italian cuisine. It’s the kind of place made for sharing plates, stretching the night out and ordering one more thing than you meant to. 1198 Queen St. W.
On the table: The tuna crudo, octopus and aglio e olio are the essentials.

4. Bar Allegro

Bar Pompette was once again named Canada’s second-best bar, and the team has recently opened Bar Allegro a few doors down on College Street — a stylish, New York–inspired aperitivo bar made for easygoing drinks and snacky plates with friends. Sip wine by the wine well at the front and settle in for a slow, casual night that still feels a little special. 597 College St.
On the table: Order the deviled eggs and bone marrow, two dishes I’m still craving weeks later.

5. Eggslut

King West is now home to Eggslut, the massively popular California breakfast sandwich chain that I admittedly have mixed feelings about. There’s no denying the sandwiches hit, but fair warning: this is not your cheap morning breakfast run. 545 King St. W.
On the table: The Fairfax with bacon, plus a Cinnamon Toast cold brew on the side.
