If you consider yourself a true local foodie, it’s time to gas up the car and point it toward Niagara. Toronto has no shortage of great restaurants, but one of Ontario’s biggest dining destinations is just an hour and a half outside the city. In Jordan Station, Restaurant Pearl Morissette remains the only restaurant in Ontario with Two Michelin Stars, holding onto the distinction for a second year in a row.
Holding onto that second star is no small feat, especially in a year where the newly released guide saw zero brand-new restaurants added to the starred list. While Toronto’s Michelin scene was unusually quiet this year, Pearl Morissette came out of the ceremony with its two stars still firmly in place — another reminder that you don’t have to be in the city to be at the very top of Ontario’s restaurant scene.
Spread across 42 acres in Jordan Station, Pearl Morissette is much more than a restaurant. There’s a winery, orchard, farm and bakery on the property, all feeding into what happens in the kitchen. Co-chefs Daniel Hadida and Eric Robertson build an ever-changing, spontaneous French-inspired tasting menu around what’s growing, what they’re foraging and what’s coming out of their two-acre regenerative garden.
According to the Michelin Guide, the menu might bring out roasted guinea hen with chanterelles, mokum carrot and fig, or free-range pork slow-roasted over peach wood and glazed with sweet potato miso. The wine list naturally showcases bottles from Pearl Morissette’s own winery, but you don’t have to drink to make the most of the meal — the house-made juice pairings are just as thoughtfully considered. Dessert keeps things just as seasonal, with possibilities like hogweed ice cream sandwiches, buckwheat sablé with honey ice cream and warm madeleines straight from the oven.
And the Pearl Morissette team had even more to celebrate this year. Just down the road in Jordan Village, its daytime bakery and café, RPM Bakehouse, picked up its first Bib Gourmand in the 2026 guide, joining five new restaurants recognized for good food at a good value. The bakery uses produce from Pearl Morissette’s farm and garden, along with heritage grains, for everything from slow-fermented breads and pastries to seasonal sandwiches and lunch dishes.
